Yup, All Change in Chicago is Good
Media Gossip/Musings, NBA, NFL, Uncategorized November 6th. 2008, 1:00pm
Kyle Orton was chosen as the Bears QB in the preseason, and he’s exceeded all expectations. The Bulls have juggled their lineup, starting rookie Derrick Rose and shifting vets Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich to the bench, and though it’s early, they seem vastly improved over last year’s 33-win debacle. Jay Mariotti resigned from the Sun-Times, and the paper’s sports pages seem less bitter and more informative. Perpetually angry radio host Mike North lost his show and vanished into the ether.
But America loves a comeback, and North seems hell bent on returning to relevancy. He’s come up with a web venture wherein he offers “seminars” to help you achieve your goals and dreams. The man went from hot dog vendor to unemployed radio host, and you can, too! He’s also putting videos on You Tube that … actually, we’re not entirely sure what purpose they serve.

Chicago hot dogs are the best
November 6th, 2008 at 1:08 pm
And it looks like the Cubs took the lead in the Jake Peavy sweepstakes.

I read the same thing about the Cubs in Ken Rosenthal’s column: “The Cubs have emerged as a front-runner in the Peavy sweepstakes, perhaps even ahead of the Braves, according to major-league sources.”
I agree with Fetch…How the fuck how? With who the fuck what? I read two days ago that Samardzija has a no-trade clause (I’m not sure how that even happens). So who the bleep are they going to trade to get Jake Freaking Peavy? It’ll have to be Marmol, Gaudin, and like 35 minor leaguers.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:41 pm
God I could go for a Portillo’s wet italian beef sandwich and some Giardano’s thin crust…
Atlanta is great, but I will always miss the Chicago food.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
Seems to me like the Cubs are turning into the NL version of the yankees. Spend an assload of money too get the best players available, while paying no attention to cohesiveness of the team. Not saying that Peavy wouldn’t fit into the rotation nicely, hell, he would fit in anywhere, but there has to be something to the fact that they have gotten smoked in the playoffs the past 2 years, not too mention, you know the past 100 years.
Just a thought from a Cardinals fan who loves seeing the cubs lose yearly.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
I read two days ago that Samardzija has a no-trade clause (I’m not sure how that even happens).
Totally Agreed.
I miss Chicago food as well. Im glad I have a Giordano’s in Tampa.

The Cubs farm system, off the top of my head, is one of the worst if not the worst in baseball. It’s terrible.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
Beerman, I had that for lunch with an order of onion rings. Portillo’s is across the street from my office.

And Obama is a Sox fan! That makes him, hands down, the biggest name to be a fan of White Sox ever.
What are the Cubs going to trade? Pie?
AND THE SEX CANNON IS BACK.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
i agree with one caveat…no stadium mustard
November 6th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
Kenny Williams laughs at that statement.
/sad White Sox fan
November 6th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
what. the. fuck?
if i had known he was a white sox fan, i wouldn’t have voted for his ass.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Also Potbelly starter in Lincoln Park! And they’re apparently very popular in this country now.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Yeah happy you’re right. At least the Cubs have one or two good guys. Although they kinda blew it drafting a college reliever last year.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
The Get Up Guy laughs at that statement.
/sad White Sox fan
November 6th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
Come on, the Sox have to be the most nondescript team in this history of American sports. They’ve been around for over 100 years, yet the number of great players begins and ends with Frank Thomas, Luke Appling, and Shoeless Joe and all they’ve done over those 100 years is finish in 3rd or 4th place. No one ever thinks of us. And we’re cool with it.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:54 pm
Where’s SG to get all Haarey Karii on my correct my spelling of Giordano’s?
November 6th, 2008 at 1:54 pm
Isn’t Mancow from Chicago?
What a douche.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:55 pm
Except for, you know, that whole throwing the World Series thing…
November 6th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
what. the. fuck?
if i had known he was a white sox fan, i wouldn’t have voted for his ass.
This makes my day. Thats Right Spencer our President is White Sox fan. I know you hate this.
and Otter, the Sex cannon or Rextacy as I call him is gonna be benched Orton is gonna play.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
Mancow is a POS.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:58 pm
Tampa…you have no idea how much it pains me to think about that.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Mancow is from KC I think, but he’s lived here since the early 90’s. So this means that if you have a douche that you’re looking to get rid of, we’ll take em.
My theory will be proven if Michael Phelps moves here.
November 6th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Spencer if you really think about it you voted for the White Sox and the Olympics in Chicago. Thanks man.
November 6th, 2008 at 2:01 pm
Derrick Rose is so much better than Gordon and Hinrich. They need to trade one of those stiffs.
Cubs better hang on to Soto, or they’re fucked.
November 6th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Not everyone’s lovin the change..

November 6th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
hey spencer. what is the story with the osu receiver and his dad?
November 6th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
ray small’s dad thinks he should be starting and playing a lot and ray small is an arrogant little primadonna who can’t catch and makes dumb penalties, but thinks he’s the shit.
so naturally, he’s been in tressel’s doghouse for about a year now, and the dad doesn’t like it and ray small is probably going to transfer now.
November 6th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Tampa Bo, my friends and I were talking about the Sex Cannon and my argument is, look, the Bears aren’t going to win the Super Bowl with this defense. So why not have some fun and put in the Sex Cannon? He’s more fun to watch… I mean when that play action was taking place on Sunday, you were on the edge of your seat weren’t you? Cus you knew he was going deep to Hester.
November 6th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
Chicago style pizza >>>>>> New York style pizza
