Top Shelf: Here Come the Blackhawks
NHL November 10th. 2008, 11:45am
Lee Diekemper on the night in the NHL.
Blackhawks 6, Flames 1: The Blackhawks scored three goals in the final period, two of which were set up by Patrick Kane. No word if he cried over the win. The third minute featured 36 penalty minutes. In a savvy move, it appears Comcast Chicago has found a sponsor for hockey fights.
Coyotes 4, Sharks 2: After spotting the Sharks two goals the Coyotes roared back. Peter Mueller’s power play goal in the second put Phoenix over the top. Janet Gretzky was happy as she had San Jose -2.
Oilers 2, Devils 1: In an effort to try to out-shoot opponents without Marty Brodeur, Oilers goalie Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers stopped 37 of 38 shots.
Panthers 3, Ducks 1: Anaheim outshot the Panthers 45-26 but the Ducks forgot to shut down David Booth. His first career hat trick polished off the Ducks.

i love fights being sponsored. im pretty sure fsnp has that. much better than the ‘columbia gas goto the box’ whenever someone takes a penalty.

I wonder who would sponsor this one.

that reminds me of when nils eckman broke his arm and instead of going to the bench just opened the door and walked off the ice into the tunnel. took a penalty. what a fucking idiot and terrible terrible hockey player.

Slapshot is one of the top 5 sports movies of all time. What a classic.
I hope the Blackhawks can keep up their dominance at home. It’ll help me sell some tickets!

That was great.
TSH: Somewhere, Ron Artest is watching this and asking, “What the fuck did I do wrong?”
November 10th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
I can easily see Ron joining in on the fun when the Hanson’s play slot cars.

@sportsgal sell some tickets, there is some great hockey being played at home. I was hungover and almost passed on the game, it would have been a big mistake. Where are your seats?
November 10th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
My seats are behind the goal the Hawks score on twice (south end of the UC) in the 15th row. They’re awesome seats. I’m about to get laid off so I need the money.

The Stars need help on D. They should sign Artest.
