Ballin’: Shaq Shoves T-Mac and Yao as if They Were Pillows; Pierce’s Shot Beats Buzzer, Atlanta
NBA November 13th. 2008, 9:00amHouston 94, Phoenix 82: Fight! Matt Barnes, seemingly angry that he was getting abused by T-Mac (27 points), took his frustration out on little Rafer Alston. Alston tried to set a screen on Barnes, who just shoved him out of the way. Alston got up in Barnes’s face and as the pile converged, Alston got shoved to the ground. Then Shaq, like the superhero that he is, showed up and dropped everybody.
LA Lakers 93, New Orleans 86: The only unbeaten team left in the league maintained a huge lead until the Hornets made a late run, but this one was never in doubt. Kobe and D Fish split 40; CP3 had 30 points and 13 assists.
Atlanta 102, Boston 103: Tremendous back-and-forth game that ended with a clutch Paul Pierce 20-foot jumper with less than a second left. The Hawks, who suffered their first loss, hit 13 triples (59 percent) and Joe Johnson scored 28. Pierce had 34.
Utah 87, Washington 95: Thanks to 20 from Butler and Jamison in the fourth, there are no more winless teams. Nick Young and Javale McGee were on the court at game’s end, perhaps the sign of things to come.
Portland 104, Miami 96: We had planned to do a lot with Greg Oden re-do on his career debut … but he only played 16 minutes and had a dunk and a block. D Wade was as incredible to watch (36 points) as he was in Beijing, but so was Rudy Fernandez (career-high 25 points).

TBL, fuck you for no mention of D-Ho. This is bullshit. First Christian Slater’s show is cancelled, now this. What a terrible day.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:06 am
D-Ho has been wonderful for my fantasy team. irish, can you please tell him to spend some practice time at the stripe? Thanks.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:06 am
Greg Oden got blocked by 6′7 Michael Beasley. sad effort
Dwight Howard recorded his first career triple-double with 30 points, 19 rbs and 10 blocks.
Howard joined Hakeem Olajuwon as the only players with at least 30 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks in a single game since the 1986-87 season (Olajuwon did it twice)

This is a “fight”? Seriously? I have seen better fights featuring girls back in high school. One chick actually smashed the other girls face against a curb. True story.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:11 am
that video is just another reason why i cant stand Shaq. He pushed Mike James in the back when James was facing the other player. Real tough Shaq. at least T Mac pushed Nash when Nash was facing him
November 13th, 2008 at 9:13 am
Love how Shaq just said screw it after Nash got pushed by McGrady who is twice his size. Well done.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:18 am
I disagree. Shaq was just protecting Nash. T-Mac should have stayed out of it completely.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:20 am
T Mac was breaking them up. Nash came running at them
November 13th, 2008 at 9:21 am
OKC was so overmatched it wasn’t even fair. i honestly feel bad for them.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:22 am
Yeah, I think Nash must have tripped over someone causing him to go in all crazy like that. I don’t think he was coming over to hit anyone, but McGrady took it that way since he kinda crashed in the way he did.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:22 am
seriously, the only real fights that ever happen in the NBA take place in the Palace.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:23 am
Oh thats how you break people up. By escalating things. I had no idea
November 13th, 2008 at 9:26 am
Pierce has become best clutch player in league (even though he bricks shots for three quarters).
November 13th, 2008 at 9:26 am
Agreed completely. He’s the reason I lead my league in blocks and rebounds, but he’s also the reason I am last in FT%.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:28 am
I was wondering if TBL would omit Dwight Howard just to incite the masses, and he did. Well played, sir.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:28 am
Wilson Chandler > T-Mac
November 13th, 2008 at 9:28 am
Speaking of fantasy basketball, D-Wade thus far is pretty much the best fantasy producer ever.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:29 am
Rudy Fernandez is really, really good.
Russell Westbrook shot 3 for 19 and had his shot blocked 5 times. Not good.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:30 am
Told all you bastards Atlanta was fake.
Welcome to Fraud City, Joe Johnson & Co.
See you in the lottery.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:33 am
Javale and Nick Young are going to be solid players. The Wiz will be horrible this year, but watching those two develop this year will be worth it.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:35 am
The Clip show is looking like shit early on this season, 1-7. NY Knicks are 5-3 and they put up 132 last night. The Rooster may be out all season
November 13th, 2008 at 9:36 am
Young, McGee, and Caron Butler would be a solid core. It’s too bad they have Jamison and Arenas screwing things up.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:40 am
NSR – I’m not much on Jamison either, but he always puts up big numbers. Of course, he can’t play a lick of defense. Gil just needs to change his game to become more of a PG, but I think his head is too big to do that.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:40 am
Damn, can’t fight the Barkley-Laimbeer fight anywhere.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:40 am
I agree on Javale. Nick Young seems like a good scorer, but he has to offer *something* else to be a productive NBA player.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:42 am
Tell that to Rudy T.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:57 am
OKC was so overmatched it wasn’t even fair. i honestly feel bad for them laugh at them.
Lakers went into the Nest and came out winners. Byron Scott…stop standing there and looking catatonic. Do something! How about trying to convince McDyess to join you?
November 13th, 2008 at 10:00 am
In all fairness, Byron Scott was thinking more about this
November 13th, 2008 at 10:15 am
The Heat/Knicks also disagree about fights only happening in the palace.
November 13th, 2008 at 10:18 am
In all fairness, Byron Scott was thinking more about this
I know too many people who’d love to see the backside of BS. I wouldn’t just because he and CP3 get along so well.
November 13th, 2008 at 10:37 am
Mike James?? He hasn’t been on the Rockets’ roster since last February.
November 13th, 2008 at 10:38 am
yes, i realized that after i wrote that. I meant Skip to my Lou. my bad Grungedave. Surprised YAo didnt miss a dunk last night?
November 13th, 2008 at 10:39 am
Oh, and FU Shaq… FU Steve Nash for making it worse… and FU right in the ear Matt Barnes for leading with your shoulder into Rafer. (And, for equal time, FU Rafer for not being smart enough to just let it go. Now you’re going to get suspended. Idiot.)
November 13th, 2008 at 10:40 am
Irish, Yao got blocked like 5 times last night… I think *I* could block Yao’s shot these days.
November 13th, 2008 at 10:44 am
@grunge- i really like Scolas game. Dude is a bruiser down low. at least Artest behaved last night
November 13th, 2008 at 11:02 am
Luis Scola is a complete and total badass.
(Carl Landry is pretty good, too.)
November 13th, 2008 at 11:05 am
TBL predictably ruined the bit about not mentioning Kobe in ballin’. Nice job TBL.
November 13th, 2008 at 11:26 am
I will not be disappointed when Aaron Brooks is required to play more.
at least Artest behaved last nightTrue, he didn’t get involved, but couldn’t hit fecal matter out of a dog’s rear end right now. He shot 2-13 again last night.
Isn’t Lebron having a better season statistically?
November 13th, 2008 at 11:31 am
yep.
November 13th, 2008 at 11:43 am

November 13th, 2008 at 11:48 am
so pissed i couldn’t comment earlier. internet’s fucked!
anyway … i can’t believe people took offense to shaq defending nash, who got jacked in that fracas.
i had no clue there was a Kobe “bit” going on. he probably hasn’t been mentioned as much because … uh … he doesn’t need to do as much? they’re blowing everyone out, and the bench is sick, so why burn him now?
November 13th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
I agree with you TBL. First off, it’s all on Rafer. Just chill the frick out. You up by 20. You don’t need to act like that, ass hat. They are frustrated and Barnes acted stupid. It would probably happen again later in the game; let him act stupid then.
I don’t buy Nash “escalating” things. Just going over and defending his teammates. Besides, the Suns win because they have the biggest guy (Shaq).
