The Linc’s Blocked Website List: An Update
1-liner, Blogging, Media Gossip/Musings November 14th. 2008, 11:00amBandwidth my Ass: “They say sites are blocked to increase bandwidth, thereby making it easier for reporters to file stories on deadline. The Eagles also claim they didn’t make individual sites off limits. Rather, they say, those decisions were farmed out to people who put the filters in place.” That’s complete garbage. What a joke. If you’re clueless as to what this is about, read this. (Philly Inquirer)

The Iggles PR department should probably take some lessons on how the internet works. They are a private company, so they can do whatever the hell they want with censoring, but that statement on bandwith smacks of ignorance.

Why can’t they just say “Look, the Internet is for one thing only: Porn. These sites take the players and staff away from finding that Asian vs Latin all-female orgy”?
That I could understand!

If I was in the Eagles press box, I would not be able to file my story online.
Also, what bandwidth issues could they possibly be having, unless every sports-writer is turning in an HD quality DVD of themselves writing their article.

I can see how the shirtless pictures of soccer players might not make it through their filter.

The City of Philadelphia is a cesspool and it’s citizens are criminals and reprobates. What that has to do with the 10 less hits you get on a Sunday afternoon. I have no idea. It just needs to be said.
