16-0, 0-16 Both Still Alive and Well
NFL November 16th. 2008, 8:01pm
Both perfect records were on the line today and both seemed to be in danger at times. Luckily, but both the Titans and Lions were able to keep their shots at history alive. The Titans came back from an 11-point halftime deficit to win and the Lions had an opportunity to tie their game in the fourth quarter and ended up losing by 9.
Jonathon Stewart and Deangelo Williams combined for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns on 29 carries for the Panthers who seem like a pretty poor excuse for a 8-2 team. Daunte Culpepper scored a touchdown and threw for another in the loss.
Kerry Collins played hero for a second straight week as he threw for 3 second-half touchdowns. Dare I say the Titans running game has been a bit fraudulent recently? (It’s a joke – simmer.)
Now settle in as Tony Romo makes his return to the national spotlight. God, I’ve missed that goofy bastard. “Oh garsh, another interception? Oopsy!” “Aww shucks another fumble! I’ll do better next time fellas!” At least now he’s got an excuse for the dropsys. Enjoy the night.

I froze my balls off to watch the worst football game of all time. Fucking ties suck.
November 16th, 2008 at 8:08 pm
I was really proud of the Lions. They had everyone fooled. To pull out a loss like that with the ultimate Thanksgiving game on the line… It was a beautiful thing.

I hate country music with a passion but I am so glad they got rid of Pink from last year. She looka like-a man.
November 16th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
The Titans are more than halfway to a perfect season, and CBS still gave 2/3 of the country the Steelers instead. Typical.
November 16th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
Andrea Kramer on the sad art of the sideline interview: “That importance of this game is what, Tony”
I wish he had said, “come on Andrea, we need a win, you know that.”
November 16th, 2008 at 8:28 pm
i love the cowboys, and i love romo … but how the heck do you call a wide pitch on 3rd and 4 when you have a great TE and two very very good WRs?
what’s sad is that the play developed well and 75 missed the block.
November 16th, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Really not worried about the Titans winning the Super Bowl. When’s the last time the team with the best regular-season record won the Super Bowl? Steelers didn’t in ‘04, Colts didn’t in ‘05, Chargers didn’t in ‘06, Pats didn’t in ‘07. And I don’t see the Titans doing it in ‘08.
November 16th, 2008 at 8:33 pm
Disgusted by this.
November 16th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
Oops. I meant this.
November 16th, 2008 at 8:35 pm
VERY ballsy call by zorn there
November 16th, 2008 at 8:39 pm

November 16th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
How soon before we get another Christie Brinkley “Vacation” commercial?
November 16th, 2008 at 8:50 pm
im with you, jay – those Vacation commercial are more tired than Shaq’s lazy eye.
im sick of them. i dont even know what they are advertising, seriously.
November 16th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
terrible pass by romo. slipped? way behind Owens, who was open.
November 16th, 2008 at 8:52 pm
DeAngelo Hall still sucks. I’d get interceptions too if quarterbacks threw passes two body widths behind the intended receiver.
November 16th, 2008 at 8:52 pm
Yeah, he slipped. He usually never throws interceptions.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
is D Hall talking to owens again? i hope owens busts his ass.
hall is the biggest punk in the nfl
November 16th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
hall is the biggest punk in the nfl
I thought about it for a second and yeah, he’s a punk. I think I had some inner turmoil because Owens is a bitch.
Fun night here. Get to toggle between KU and MNF. Sherron Collins is freaking awesome. Rest of the team? Not so much. Check. Not even close to so much. Collins might avg 25 ppg going into conference play. Self has publically given him the green light for 20 shots a game. Not much of a endorsement for the rest of the team.
Back to fooooootball.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
There’s too much Cowboy ass patting going on here.
Skins > Boys
November 16th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
I used hate D Hall with a passion – party because he’s an asshole and partly because he went to VT. Now I’m forced to root for him… Got to love sports.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
wade phillips must have said: “Well, we need to control the clock, or they will, so let’s run, run, run”
nice call, wade
November 16th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
second pick on a pass to TO. this one was TO’s fault
November 16th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
Oh this is great. Here’s hoping the Boys lose and Romo throws two more picks and Jerrah Jones goes into full-on implosion mode.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:16 pm
Lots of bootlegs today from Zorn.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:19 pm
Good Stuff.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
No way that was T.0’s fault TBL. Maybe they shouldn’t run the same play (slant) in the same situation (2nd and short) on consecutive sets of downs.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
Maybe my mind is foggy due to many beers but i have no idea what the hell those signs are all about. Someone help me out.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:31 pm
illformula -
Holy fuck. That is mindnumbingly unbelievable. You sure that wasn’t edited over to make McNabb look stupid? Has to be.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
Wow…I just now read that Donovan McNabb did not know that a nfl game could end in a tie…the stupid fuck thought there was a 2nd ot…i’m beside myself right now
November 16th, 2008 at 9:34 pm
So does this give Bernard Hopkins more credibility now?
November 16th, 2008 at 9:38 pm
there shouldnt be ties and if theyre not going to adapt college football’s overtime they should at least go to the playoffs format of no game clock
November 16th, 2008 at 9:39 pm
KC – PFT is occasionally wrong, but not often. Personally, I don’t think McNabb knew. He’s not too bright.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
There’s some shady shit going on with the officials in this game. The downed punt and now calling Portis inbounds? NFL refs as a whole are having a tough year.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
I guess it’s just too much to ask to go through one lousy Cowboys game without a shot of Jerry Jones.
November 16th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Holy shit, McNabb is a fucking retard.
November 16th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
Don’t worry the Bucs always lose in Detroit. Detroit is a lock next week.
November 16th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
Don’t worry the Bucs always lose in Detroit. Detroit is a lock next week.
Is it too much to ask that the Bucs don’t pull a game completely out of their ass every now and then?
/frustrated Saints fan
November 16th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
So TBL, is this the week the Colts sneak back into your top 10? Or will the Chargers keep them out again?
November 16th, 2008 at 10:22 pm
It’s frustrating watching the Bucs. They move the ball at will between the 20s (8th in the NFL in yards per game), but are only 30th in red one offense. After today it’ll probably be worse since we were 1/5 in the red zone.
November 16th, 2008 at 10:38 pm
what a ridiculously awesome play by Romo on 3rd down! cowboys are gonna win this …
November 16th, 2008 at 10:38 pm
touchdown rookie!!!!!!
what a great pass and catch
November 16th, 2008 at 10:41 pm
Let’s not start sucking each other’s dicks just yet. There’s still 10 minutes left.
November 16th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
TBL, please tell me you’re doing a McNabb post tomorrow. That is unbelievable.
November 16th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
youre quite the cowboys fan for an alleged jets fan
November 16th, 2008 at 10:51 pm
How can you root for the Cowboys as a “Jets” fan? I’m not sure I get the connection. Then again, I don’t quite understand the whole “well I’m a (blank) fan, but I also like the (blank).”
Horrible play call on fourth down there, BTW.
November 16th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
cowboys are gonna win this
Kneejerk reaction!
November 16th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
So does this give Bernard Hopkins more credibility now?
I’m sure Rush Limbaugh is having a good chuckle right about now…
November 16th, 2008 at 11:07 pm
In McNabb’s defense, ties are fucking retarded.
/science
November 16th, 2008 at 11:09 pm
In McNabb’s defense, ties are fucking retarded.
so are turtlenecks, but you oughtta know how the game gets finished when you’ve played it for 10 years in the pros! I can’t wait to hear how this gets “spun” to make Donovan not look like the idiot that he is. I’m sure he was “joking” because he’s such a “jokester”
November 16th, 2008 at 11:18 pm
There’s nothing like walking out of a tied game. It’s just empty. I could have gone to a high school JV soccer game and watched a tie.
November 17th, 2008 at 12:32 am
Can we stop all the bullshit about how the NFC East is the best conference in football, please? I’m tired of having the hard-on that FOX and ESPN have for this division being shoved in my ass every week.
Giants – Best team in the NFL (IMO) right now. I get it.
Cowboys – The Yankees of the NFL. Overspend + too many egos = no results. I’m tired of them, and I’m sure there’s a lot of people with me.
Redskins – Interesting, but not thatinteresting.
Eagles – Should be re-named the Andy Reid train wreck. A tie with the Bengals? Really? We’re supposed to take this team seriously, and all you can give me is a tie with the Bengals?
I don’t get the whole NFC East thing…the Giants are far superior to anyone in the division (and the conference, and for that point the whole league). It’s done. You’re not getting three teams in from the NFC East. You’ll be lucky to get two.
STOP SHOVING THEM DOWN MY THROAT!
