Ballin’: A Slow, Predictable Night in the NBA
NBA November 21st. 2008, 9:45am
Phoenix 92, LA Lakers 105: Shaq and Kobe played nice, Shaq and Phil hugged it out, and the Lakers rolled to 9-1 as the bench pumped in 42 points.
Detroit 80, Boston 98: We hope nobody says, “the Pistons got Iverson to beat the Celtics, and now they’re 0-2 against them with AI.” No. The Pistons traded for Iverson to free up cap space for future endeavors (LeBron?). Maybe it’s just us, but the thought that the Pistons with Billups would be significantly better than the Pistons with Iverson is insane. Two or three wins? Perhaps. A title better? Nope.
Congrats to the guys over at Free Darko for this neat Q&A with the New York Times.

“I was telling Luke [Walton] about 10 minutes ago that this might be the first season I average 31 minutes because we’ve been blowing people out,” Bryant said. “I’ve been sitting the whole fourth quarter. That’s pretty amazing.”
I could have swore TBL was saying something about his minutes this week
Lebron James is the best player in the league

TBL, you can’t seriously believe this, can you?

Damn, the Celtics look just as good as last year. There are no easy baskets against against that team when they decide to play defense.

I’m sure a great chest pounding will ensue.

How else could we possibly know if he’s serious or not?

Lebron aint going to Detroit. What is gonna do there? Take the empty factories to exclusively make his own crap?
Detroit wants CP and Bosh.

Boston – Detroit game was boring as hell. Boston was never in jeopardy of losing the game. Lakers -Suns was entertaining for the first three and a half quarters. Lakers look alot better defensively this year.

Argument against Kobe 5 years ago: He’s overrated. Anybody could win if they had Shaq dominating down low.
Argument against Kobe 3 years ago: He’s overrated. I told you he wouldn’t be able to win the title without Shaq.
Argument against Kobe today: He’s overrated. Look at all the help he’s got. Anybody could win with Gasol, Odom, and all those guys.
I can’t wait to see where this evolves.

Why does everyone assume Bosh is going somewhere? Toronto is a big market team who will give him max money. Also, once Nash retires, Bosh will more or less be the face of basketball in Canada.
