College Football Top 10
College Football November 21st. 2008, 5:45pm
No movement at all in the Top 10 based on last week’s crummy slate of games. There certainly will be a shakeup after Saturday as a result of Texas Tech-Oklahoma. Utah and BYU matters to the BCS, but the Utes aren’t getting a shot at the National Championship game, so it matters not.
1. Alabama 11-0. Bye.
2. Texas Tech 10-0. Beats Oklahoma, 45-42.
3. Florida 9-1. Beats Citadel 63-0.
4. Texas 10-1. Bye.
5. Oklahoma 9-1. Loses to Texas Tech 45-42.
6. USC 9-1. Bye. (We projected 41-20 last week; final was 45-23!)
7. Utah 11-0. Beats BYU 28-24.
8. Boise State 9-0. Beats Nevada 44-31.
9. Ball State 11-0. Final regular season game Tuesday vs. Western Michigan.
10. Penn State 10-1. Beat Michigan State, 31-30.

Ok, so you gave us a Joey Porter pit bull post, 2 reporter buyout posts, and 2 random rumors BEFORE putting this up? Come on man, I know people give you shit about your top-10, but there’s no reason to stash it where nobody can discuss it.

Ball State at #9? Do you really think they could beat Ohio State, Missouri, Oklahoma State or Georgia? Heck, I think Oregon State (just to throw another OSU into the mix) could take them.

Two out every 3 OSU teams suck. Go Beavers and Go Sooners.

TBL aren’t you kidding yourself ranking Florida anything but #1 right now…

Forget just Ball State…there is zero possibility Boise State, Utah, or Ball State are one of the top 10 teams in the country. NO CHANCE. Penn State beats Oregon State by 30 and Utah escapes by 3 but Utah is the better team? Huh? Who has Ball State beaten? NOBODY!

I think you’re missing something even more blatant here.
/see team #6

Ohio State could go to the Sugar Bowl, beat Bama, and TBL will have them at 18.
November 22nd, 2008 at 12:07 am
Get Boise and Ball State out of there. Penn State is 7th, Utah 8th, Ohio State 9th, and Whogivesafuck Tech at 10.
November 22nd, 2008 at 12:10 am
you can’t do the “x would beat y” because with 4 weeks to prepare for a bowl game, crazy shit happens.
like boise state over oklahoma.
and didnt utah stomp somebody in a bcs game?
November 22nd, 2008 at 1:12 am
(s)pitt. and if memory serves, it was urban meyer’s last game at utah.
November 22nd, 2008 at 5:34 am
But what about Wottsamatta U. ?
November 22nd, 2008 at 5:44 am
@ Jay – Yes. You are correct.

Utah/Boise St/Ball St don’t belong anywhere near the top 10.
/admittedly drunk…but still factual.
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:33 am
just because a team is undefeated doesn’t mean they are a defaco top 10 team…and I might be wron but didn’t u pick msu to beat penn st a few days ago?
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:16 am
@beaverbeliever
Utah is legit. The jury is out on Boise St, but they did beat Oregon which is a solid win. I think Ball St is very overrated though.
But I also agree with
Utah should be #10. The other two somewhere below 15.

Utah/Boise St/Ball St don’t belong anywhere near the top 10.
You cannot create ANY argument that justifies USC being ahead of Utah, as long as Utah is undefeated and they beat the team USC lost to.
None. Zero. Nada. So if USC is #6, then Utah should be #5. I don’t care “how many times USC would win if they played ten times on a neutral field” or whatever bullshit you can think of. USC lost to Oregon State this year, and Utah didn’t. Period.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:52 am
Sounds good on paper, but it’s just not true. USC is much, much better than all three of those undefeated schools. If you rank those teams ahead of USC, it would set a terrible precedent about scheduling from here on out.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:04 am
But you don’t rank those teams on “who would beat whom.” You rank them based on what they did this season. And if the undefeated team beat the team they lost to, then sorry. No sale. If Utah would have beaten anybody else in the Pac 10 instead of Oregon State and they were still undefeated, then yeah, I’d agree. And with the exception of beating Ohio State before Terrelle Pryor was ready, you can’t even say that USC even has a better resume.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:17 am
Penn State beat both OSU’s, USC only beat one…so shouldn’t USC be below PSU?
November 22nd, 2008 at 12:01 pm
Probably, but they won’t do it because:
1) USC hasn’t lost in like a month and a half
2) USC was better against Ohio State. Forget that Terrelle Pryor is a different QB now, and PSU won in Columbus.

nice picture TBL. Man, we fucking destroyed Miami.
