1-liner November 22nd. 2008, 9:00amMarbury Declines D’Antoni: Starbury got his first opportunity to step on the court and play for the Knicks against the Bucks in Milwaukee, but declined because the team is going “in a different direction”. Needless to say, Mike D’Antoni is a little hacked off. Bucks won, by the way. Good Saturday morning to you. [Newsday]

Good for him to not fall for that stunt. If the coach wanted him to play, he would simply put him in.

The coach tried to put him in. Said player declined…

The coach doesn’t have to “try”, he’s the coach. If he calls your name and you refuse, that’s grounds for suspension. Sitting a player for an entire month and then telling him you’re going to play 30-35 minutes the day of the game isn’t normal procedure. Sounds like a publicity stunt.

Marbury’s a massive douche.
“The only thing I’m at liberty to say is that I was told that they were moving forward and†— Marbury then took a long pause — “I’m not the person that chooses who plays and who doesn’t. That’s the only thing that I’m able to say.€
Why would any team take him on? Why would anyone want a joker like this in their organization?

Oh, and my bullish knicks prediction of playoffs this season no longer is admissible since the team has been blown up. i would not be shocked if D’Antoni kept this new motley crew competitive, though.
