Gary Danielson a moment ago:
“LSU kicker Colt McCoy before the game was kicking field goals from the 53 yard line.”
You figure it out.

if only the mighty penn state could beat iowa theyd be relevant
any western conference hockey fans, breathe a sigh of relief because i think luongo is going to be out a long long time

If Duke beats VaTech today, the ACC will go into next week with a shot at having all 12 teams bowl eligible. Clemson is 6-5 now, but has to be 7-5 to be bowl eligible due to playing two D1AA teams, and UVA, NCSU, and Duke would all be 5-6.
The ACC: where no one knows what the fuck is going to happen.

First of all, I don’t know how voting for the best team is arrogant or elitist. It isn’t like voters aren’t going off what they see on the football field in voting for who they think is best. If a voter watched every USC game and every Utah game I don’t think it is arrogant or elitist to come to the conclusion that USC is a better team. Secondly, MAYBE a couple voters put USC in the top ten but very, very doubtful. And there is NO CHANCE that USC is actually in the top ten with four losses.

OH GOOD GOD THE CHARLIE WEIS REIGN OF TERROR MAY BE ABOUT TO END!
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:04 pm
Seriously, then WHY THE FUCK DO WE PLAY THE GAMES? Let’s just put USC vs. the SEC champion in the national championship every fucking year, no matter what their records are. Because that’s what it sounds like you are saying. Because apparently USC can lose 1 or 2 games every year, and there will be people spouting that they are “clearly the best.” Utah did what they had to do. USC didn’t. And you are still saying that you should deny them because you know better and you know the truth? That is arrogant and elitist.

okay weis needs to be fired now. he has made this program an embarrassment.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:08 pm
we have played inspiring football today.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:09 pm
I would just watch the games where they played a common opponent.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:09 pm
but, at least we didn’t lose to the cuse.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:11 pm
Wow, another loss for ND where they should’ve won by 14 points. Insane.
Whether he’s going to be fired or not, the media will pounce on this shit like Tawny Kitaen on the hood of a Jaguar.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:13 pm
there is not should have with ND. They suck.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:17 pm
sheesh, so do we right now. 49-7?
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:20 pm
Well ND has averaged 7 wins a year for the last 15 years. They’re right on track for that this year. What’s the problem?
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:20 pm
What happened to Ringer today? This is the worst I have seen him look all year. Damn Penn State’s Defense must be bad ass.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:22 pm
This has been a great year. Michigan is one of the worst FBS teams. Notre Dame lost to Syracuse. Oregon State may go to the Rose bowl over USC. OSU has no chance at the BCS title game. The SEC was way over rated and the entire ACC sucks.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:25 pm
as bad as syracuse has been, i am still much more embarrassed about losing to north carolina
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:25 pm
Was I the only one dying laughing when Pat Hayden (I think?) say:
“This is where Notre Dame Quarterback legends are made.”
Yeah, against hapless teams who have a lame-duck coach…
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:28 pm
fuck pat haden. why the hired a usc qb to be an announcer for notre dame games is beyond me. i want homerism goddamnit.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:35 pm
Ok, Duke has gotten 3 points on 4 takeaways, all 4 possessions started around the 50 yardline.
3-0 Duke, in what is quite possibly the worst football game I’ve ever watched.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:36 pm
I would also point out that Oregon State beat USC in Corvallis while the lost at Utah. That makes a difference.
Yes, win out in a mediocre conference. USC had a much tougher schedule I don’t care what you say. BYU almost lost to FREAKING WASHINGTON so don’t give me any crap about the MWC being better than the Pac Ten.
/Jaquizz Rodgers is the best player in the country…give him the Heisman
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:37 pm
I’m a Hokie fan, and I just can’t watch the Frank ‘N Stine(spring) offense anymore. It’s horrific.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:37 pm
Did you watch ND-Syracuse?
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:38 pm
5th turnover for VaTech
This is fucking awesome, and fucking terrible.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:39 pm
MWC 6 Pac-10 1
yeah, the MWC is better.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:44 pm
What are the odds the South Bend whale gets shit canned? If they fire him, he’s got like $20 million dollars coming to him. Since ND is bowl elgilble, which bowl do they get invited to? Combined record of teams ND has beat: 19-48.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Against teams like Syracuse, words like “should have” sadly still come into play.
Watching Greg Robinson was by far the most entertaining part of that game, he was fired up throughout the whole thing.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:52 pm
And VaTech finally scores. fuck.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:57 pm
nolan084 That is what I texted to my Cuse friend, to funny how NBC tries to sell the Notre Dame mystique even when they lose to awful teams at home.
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:57 pm
tallguy…run down those games. Against the top 5 teams in the Pac Ten the MWC is 2-1 (Utah over OSU, NM over UA, Cal over CSU). That isn’t exactly proving that the conference is elite. The elite of the MWC beating up on the dregs of the Pac Ten proves nothing to me (just like Cal’s win over CSU). Oh, and BYU, thanks to that horrid call by the refs, escaped 0-11 UW. I would go by the best of a conference going against the best of the other’s which, is a three point vitory by Utah at home. Again, inconclusive.
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:06 pm
BYU also destroyed a UCLA 59-0…if you’re going to harp on a game in which they played terrible, you’ve also got to point out the game where they humiliated a PAC10 team. Maybe the MWC isn’t “better” than the Pac-10, but the fact that there is a legit argument means that the Pac10 sucks balls this year, and that Utah is more than deserving of a BCS berth.
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:09 pm
This happened at BYU. Consider it inconclusive.
/beaverbeliever
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:18 pm
Um…UCLA stinks.
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:21 pm
And I think there is a difference between a 59 point victory at home and a 3 point victory at home. But very funny.
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:39 pm
So, uh, anyone else hear that all the networks are only televising Pac-10 football next year? Apparently that’s the only place real football is played.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:35 pm
the grandaddy of them all
