Minnesota 106, Detroit 80: Had to do a triple take this one, just we like did this weekend when we were in an eatery and Jim from the Office walked in. Did Randy Foye really have 14 assists? Did Minny really shoot 53 percent? If you think being a Seattle sports fan is bad, consider Michigan. This weekend alone, the auto industry didn’t get a bailout, Michigan and Michigan State were clobbered, and the Lions fell to 0-11. So when can we annex Michigan to Canada?

Boston 118, Toronto 103: The Celtics improved to 13-2 by shooting a blistering 61 percent from the field. Though its still early, one has to wonder: At what point will Jermaine and CB4 learn to play down low together? Do we wait for the second half? The playoffs? Next year?

Sacramento 103, LA Lakers 118: Eight of the nine players who saw action for the 11-1 Lakers scored in double figures. Trevor Ariza, who must be chomping at the bit to lockdown Paul Pierce in the NBA Finals, had 11 points and took 11 rebounds off the bench.

Golden State 81, Philadelphia 89: This is more like it – 22 points for Brand, 16 rebounds for Dalembert. Oh. Wait. Those numbers don’t count! Greg Oden tore the Warriors up last week, but everyone scoffed at the stats because the Warriors are so pathetic inside.

Chicago 101, Denver 114: They’re playing defense and closing games strong? Hmmm. Maybe Denver is turning the corner. Down three with five minutes to play, Denver tore off on a 13-0 run to improve to 9-5. Be patient, though, the implosion is coming: Carmelo’s stats (career-lows of 38 percent from the field, 19 points per game) are way down, and he’s a me-first guy. He’s like the Terrell Owens of the NBA.
