1-liner, NFL November 24th. 2008, 9:45amSuper Bowl: For everyone salivating about the prospect of the holy New York trinity at the Super Bowl in Tampa – Giants and Jets and the Boss at halftime – Sports Business Journal is reporting some seriously depressing news: A lot of the glamorous parties have been cancelled thanks to the dismal economic outlook. The Playboy shindig – Detroit’s a few years back remains the greatest party we’ve ever attended – seems to be on life support. Maxim’s jam, however, is still on. We had planned to make the trip to Tampa, but now we’re not so sure.

Some truth to this – was looking at flights to LA for the Rose Bowl over the weekend. Roughly $600 right now – kind of ridiculous.

If the Champs happen to make it back (and they will) I probably wouldn’t be going for any of the extras. In fact, I would fly down into Miami and hang with my sister and future bro-in-law and drive up the morning of the game. the ticket for the game is expensive enough if I was to win the season ticket holder lottery.

Can’t they just move the Playboy and Maxim parties to some of the many strip clubs available in Tampa? Maybe even bring back the strip club bus?
That’s all that they need really for those parties: lots of alcohol and lots of hot, slutty girls with low self-esteem.

that’s always the case around the holidays. my brother always makes his reservations to come back east from LA in october, because then you might get lucky and find a flight for $400 or so.
