Ballin’: Here Come the Bobcats (Yes, Really)
NBA December 2nd. 2008, 11:00am
Minnesota 90, Charlotte 100: We made passing mention of it over the weekend - the Bobcats may have turned the corner. (Not that anyone’s watching!) Ray Felton had 14 points and 14 assists, J Rich (25 points) continued his strong play since returning from injury and Emeka Okafor added 24 as the Bobcats improved to 6-11. Kevin Love for Minny, in 15 games: 23 minutes a game, 40 percent from the field, eight points, six boards a night. Decent.
Orlando 88, Boston 107: Their backcourt’s banged up, and without Nelson and Pietrus, the Magic never stood a chance against Rondo (16 points, 12 assists) and Allen (21 points). Rashard Lewis had a season-high 30, but Orlando shot just 5-for-26 from three. JJ Redick had six points in 31 minutes.
Miami 130, Golden State 129, OT: Tough to put Don Nelson on the hot seat, what with his best player, Monta Ellis, out injured, but if the Warriors used to be indifferent about D, it clearly is optional now. They picked up their seventh loss in a row last night after getting crushed on the boards (51-36) and then letting Heat rookie Michael Beasley (19 points) steal an inbounds pass with less than 10 seconds left and sink the game-winning free throw. D Wade had 37; Jamal Crawford, who is winless in Golden State, had 40 in defeat. Neat: Both teams shot 90 percent from the line.
Since we’re fans of Greg Oden, here’s how he’s doing through 12 games: eight points, seven boards a night in 21 minutes, 52 percent from the field. The east coast gets a glimpse of Oden this week with first-place Portland traveling to up and down the I-95 corridor to face NY, Washington and Boston.

Coach Brown can make a difference in a functional organization.

Rondo versus Anthony Johnson should be illegal. Magic need a point guard.

TBL, it’s December 2nd. Let’s not get carried away here.
Shaq hasn’t taken his usual 2-month sabbatical yet. So you know the season hasn’t really started yet.

Horrible game by Orlando last night. Our backcourt got killed. Pierce took over the 3rd quarter and scored 17 points. When you have open looks against Boston, you have to make them. 5/26 is bad from the arc
8 T’s were given out last night. Refs were not messing around last night
Dwight had a bad game, 14/15/4 blocks. Orlando has a long way to go

Anthony Johnson is still in the league? Wow.

Irish- You see Sam Cassell get ejected?! Hilarious! More T’s than points this year for him.

Wow, they beat the Timberwolves! Call the cops

JJ Redick has bitched the past two years about getting no playing time. He finally has the chance to step in and contribute and he is sucking ass. 6 points in 31 minutes is fucking unacceptable

Eric Montross put up decent #’s his rookie year.

@walfredo- my man, how you doing? yeah i saw that. More T’s than points and minutes is hilarious. Your boy Perkins already has 9 T’s so far this year
Interesting note: Tony Battie was the person who carried Paul Pierce out of the club the night he was stabbed
Battie has been playing well so far this year

Yeah Irish you know mo money mo problems. Stakes is high! Actually gotta work at work!
But had to get in on the chat w/ Magic/C’s. Battie looked great last night. He was like a #2 pick back in the day. Magic need some guard help and some perimeter defense. Can’t have Hedu and Reddick guarding the 2’s and 3’s we got in the NBA.
Perk’s gotta shut his trap. Dwight had bad game and still put up crazy #’s. That boy needs some help!

I know I’m late to this, but, in Redick’s defense, he knows he is sucking as well. Did you read Stien’s Daily Dime piece on him this morning Irish? I didn’t realize he put on more weight or was working out at Duke this summer. True, I’m a unabashed Redick homer, but at least he isn’t blaming bad passes from Dwight out of the double team or something like that.

yes i read it. Do you really think it was Dwights fault that he misses open shots?

missed*

No, no not at all. Sorry, I wasn’t very clear. I was just saying that at least he was owning up to the fact that he was playing like garbage and not blaming his struggles on something completely stupid.

true. He will give me gray hair by Christmas if he keeps this garbage up
