Nightmare BCS Scenario: UF Wins, Doesn’t Play for the Title
1-liner, College Football December 3rd. 2008, 11:45amBCS: As if things don’t already suck, a reader wonders: “What if Florida beats Alabama, but doesn’t overtake Texas in the BCS standings? Is a Texas-Oklahoma rematch possible?” Just a guess, but busloads of Gator fans in jorts storm the BCS offices (wherever they are) and refuse to leave until changes are made. Or, maybe Tebow will lean on his political connections to get Florida into the title game. Burnt Orange Nation has explored the potential of this scenario unfolding.

Florida would beat Texas by two touchdowns at least.

The computers are biased against Texas. They would dictate that Florida move ahead.
/computers have feelings.

how does anyone know that Utah, Boise or Ball State wouldn’t beat any of these greedy ass schools on a neutral field. Isn’t this all a matter of opinion? You say that Florida would beat Texas by two touchdowns at least, but how do you know, unless they actually play? I don’t get all the extreme know-it-all-ness of college football….nobody knows shit, or they would all be in Vegas making a fortune.

Of course Florida is good…they scored 70 points against Citadel…

Remember when Jevan Sneed took a dump on the Gators on their field? Same kid couldn’t cut it at Texas.

Michael Crabtree objects to this nightmare scenario since he is not allowed to appear.

The BCS has more angles than an elaborate Vince McMahon pay-per view.

Assuming that Florida beats Alabama, legitimate cases can likely be made for all four one-loss schools and probably USC and at least the BCS attempts to apply some sort of logic to picking two of them as opposed to the old system which just went with conference tie-ins, which uses zero logic.

UTah gets their chance against the SEC championship game loser in the Sugar Bowl. They can prove something that night. Also the two games non BCS teams have won in BCS games have been won by innovative offenses. Boise against Oklahoma and Urban Meyer’s Utah team. This Utah team is very very bland. They’re are going to get hammered by an SEC school.
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:26 pm
I know. Because they aren’t good enough.
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:30 pm

Florida is going to destroy OK, Texas, or anyone else that gets scheduled to play them. SEC haters, your day of reckoning is coming, just like it did in 2006, and just like it did in 2007. Especially you, clown.
