If Alabama Beats Florida and Missouri Beats Oklahoma, Why Not …
1-liner, College Football December 4th. 2008, 6:00pmHey, What About Utah?: “What if Alabama hands Florida a second loss in Saturday’s SEC title game and three-loss Missouri shocks Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game? This would leave undefeated Alabama headed toward the Jan. 8 national title game but needing a BCS playing partner.” Texas nor Texas Tech won its conference. Why should either of those be rewarded over the Utes? (LA Times)

Why should either of those be rewarded over the Utes?
Because they would not be ranked 1 or 2 in the BCS standings. That be the rule. If that statement was meant to be more of a macro-diss of the BCS, fine. Too many “What if” columns on the BCS. It sucks (sorry, Ty!), but that is the system that has been in place for years.
Granted, it isn’t Utah’s fault that Michigan is horrible.

If Michigan wasn’t horrible Utah wouldn’t have won. They barely beat Oregon State on a ridiculous PI call. TCU is over rated, and BYU is the most over rated team in the history of college football.

If you want to cry for a small school cry for Boise state. I’m not sure why Utah gets all this love.

tcu’s defense is pretty good. they had to play utah on the road in a short week. they (tcu) also actually slowed down ou’s off. all that to say utah is not that good.

@shawn
I was probably a little harsh on TCU, but that oaklahoma game was never competitive. They slowed their O down after the game was over (21 points and about 250 yards of O in the first quarter.) I’d take TCU over Utah on a neutral field.

we need a new power conference!
Utah, Fresno, TCU, BYU, Hawa’ii, Boise State, Air Force, ND, Army, Navy.
Too bad it would never happen if only because those army-hawaii games mean like 16 hours on a plane.

I was just giving shit to the Michigan crowd. I don’t really care one way or another about them or Utah. Boise is my team.

usc would be higher and would have won their conference if they beat ucla, so this post is retarded

TBL’s love of college FB “mid-majors” is ridiculous.
Exactly.
