PM Roundup: “All great men have mustaches!”
Baseball, College Football, NFL, UFC December 5th. 2008, 3:45pm
Happy Friday…I’ll be here all weekend. So send me lots of e-mails and links or I’ll run out of the room crying. I’ll do it. Don’t test me.
Isla Fisher was nice in Wedding Crashers, but her best movie has to be Hot Rod. Speaking of which - The Foot Fist Way is a masterpiece. Danny McBride is a genius.
First they get an interview with ESPN’s Brad Edwards, now they’ve got a Chris Petersen to Mississippi St. scoop. (Sparty & Friends)
I’m not used to that kind of language from Mario. (Kotaku)
The Yankees are the equivalent of CC Sabatia’s fall-back school. (New York Times)
Roddy White has job security. (Yahoo!)
The Rocky Mountain News is for sale. Somebody buy it, I’ll move there and write it. Deal? (Rocky Mountain News)
But did he eat it? (TheWorldWideLeader.com)
Undercover Mother. (MSNBC)
An interview with Rampage Jackson. (The Atlantic)
It was obviously a memorable experience for Rampage:
MDS: Let’s talk about the media attention you’ve gotten. You were recently profiled in The Atlantic. What did you think of that?
Rampage: I don’t even know what The Atlantic is. (FanHouse)
Brendan Ayanbaderjo misses Chicago. (Stet Sports Blog)
George Bush just bought a new home in Dallas. I think it’s time for a new season of That’s My Bush. (Unprofessional Foul)

Any reason why the sparty and friends story wasn’t linked? I saw he crossed out The Big Lead on his website.
December 5th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
@Lance - Huh? 2 links in the line for Sparty
December 5th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
Chris Peterson to Miss State? If that is true it is a horrible move by both parties. And UW should have gone after him over Sarkisian IMO.

December 5th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
quizz and quon- forget those links. the source spoke directly to me under the condition of anonymity. we are the first reporting it, so there will not be a link from our site.
December 5th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
Tampa Bo - Unless sparty is reporting it, I’m not linking it.
December 5th, 2008 at 4:07 pm
Didn’t McBride and The Foot Fist Way guys go to school with David Gordon Green, who directed the masterpiece George Washingon (and the commercial hit Pineapple Express)? Those Carolinas, an underrated source of filmmaking talent.

Belated +1 Sparty. Hopefully you take someone’s job at ESPN.

Killer. Just checking. Nice work!
December 5th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
@bsanders - Not sure, but McBride has a new show on HBO sometime next year. He plays a retired baseball player who teaches gym.
December 5th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
or i could just be pulling a Mortensen.
December 5th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
breaking news from sparty and friends: Houston Nutt to Auburn, Charlie Weis to Ole Miss, Ty Willingham to Boise St, and Phil Fulmer to Notre Dame!

CRM
- I just looked it up. Yeah, McBride and The Foot Fist Way’s director Jody HIll went to the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem with David Gordon Green. He helped them get financing and their foot in the door to make The Foot Fist Way (and also cast McBride in Pineapple Express, where he was awesome). Also, the dude from Lars and the Real Girl who was in All the Real Girls apparently was best friends with DGG in college, too.

Ok, this might be the best thing I’ve read all week:
December 5th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
It’s called East Bound and Down. The pilot is out on torrent if you’re like me and can’t wait for it.
December 5th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
I gotta admit, I kinda enjoyed Simmons’ columns this week. Good work for the first time in a while.

i don’t feel sorry for oj in the least. i do feel for the guy that they convicted with him. that dude never had a chance. they weren’t gonna let oj walk under any circumstances and he went down with him.
