College Football December 6th. 2008, 4:00pm
4pm – CBS
Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Florida Gators
S-E-C Speed. It’s the SEC championship on CBS!
From what I’ve read in various places, this game is quite important. #1 and #2 in the AP Coaches’ Poll. (Florida is ranked fourth in the BCS standings.) Florida is favored by 10 despite the fact that tailback Percy Harvin is very doubtful to participate.
4:30pm – ABC
UCS Trojans @ UCLA Bruins
The timeout game. It’s less important, but has two teams with nice looking uniforms who will each use only 2 timeouts each half. If that doesn’t make it a must-watch, then I don’t know what does. USC is #5 in the BCS rankings and a win here would clinch a trip to the Rose Bowl. UCLA is 4-7 and averages something like 10 points a game. (I may have made that up.)

I’m not talking about the quality of the teams. It’s that Florida/Alabama’s billed as “1 vs 2″ and Missouri/Oklahoma’s billed as “20 vs. 2.” How many 2’s are we going to use? Apparently as many as there are polls that don’t really matter in relative terms to the BCS, I guess.
It’s like last year. LSU passed USC to go to #1 the week USC played Stanford. But Versus still labeled USC #1 in their graphics, apparently because they were still #1 in some poll, somewhere.
