Baseball Card Friday Is Late, But Worth The Wait

Want to know why we waited until now to bring you our second to last Baseball Card Friday of the season? Because we were absolutely positive that Ryan Howard would slug his league-leading 58th homer of the season tonight.
So the timing is perfect. The only not-so-exciting part of this post is that we quit collecting cards long before we had an opportunity to get our hands on this must-have Howard rookie card from 2003. Currently, the card is going for roughly $40.00 If Howard is able to swat three homers over the final nine games, that’ll give him 61, and tie the old record set by Roger Maris in 1961.
Since we all know that anything Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds accomplished in the last decade was fraudulent and achieved unnaturally, whatever Howard finishes with … ok, we’ll stop there, and you can judge for yourself whether or not he’s clean.
As for the rookie card, you totally missed the boat.

He’s clean. If Willie Stargell played today in Citizens Bank Park, he could hit 60.
