Ballin’: Catch Us at Our New Spot

Morning folks! And what a good morning it is. Outstanding morning. Why so chipper? Because we’re ready to spill that news we told you about earlier in the week. You see, we’ve accepted one of the most coveted hoops writing gigs on the web – getting our blog on for the brand spanking new NBA Fanhouse.
Surely you’re familiar with the NFL Fanhouse. They do great work. It’s an NFL must-read (along with Michael Silver, Jason Whitlock, and everybody’s favorite punching bag, Peter King). And we plan on being an NBA must-read (along with Peter Vecsey, Sam Smith, and Kelly Dwyer. Oh, hell, we’re extending our list beyond three: We can’t leave out Dave D’Alessandro and Mark Heisler).
So every morning, when your thoughts drift to our dearly departed (that’s Ballin’), be sure to pop on over to the Fanhouse. We’ve got a flotilla of talented, knowledgeable, bloggers, and we’ll be havin’ buckets o’ fun.
Pistons Back on Top: Dwyane Wade had the ball, there were less than five seconds left, and the Heat were trailing by one. At home. Lock city, right? Wade tried to shake Rip Hamilton, popped an 18-footer, the crowd rose to its feet … and airball. Detroit 87, Miami 85. The air biscuit culminated a 5-for-23 night for Wade. Miami dropped to 6-9. Detroit, which had that terrible start to the season, has now won seven straight games and overtaken the Cavaliers for first place in the Central. Hamilton led everyone with 24.
Fiddy Two: Hope you had the pleasure of watching Kobe dismantle the team with the best record in the NBA last night. The Bean dropped 52 on the Jazz – including 30 in a wild third quarter in which Bryant hit 11 shots in a row – and the Lakers rolled to a 132-102 victory. The Jazz have cooled considerably after the scorching start – they’ve lost 3 of 4 to fall to 13-4 (still the best record in the league by half a game). LA shot a whopping 60 percent. Utah was led by Carlos Boozer’s 26, and rookie Paul Millsap chipped in 13 points and seven rebounds.

NBA Fanhouse? Never heard of it. Who gets their sports news online anyway?

Congratulations, sellout. No, seriously, kudos on becoming the Man. I’m just bitter… Can the bloggers check and balance you too?
