Happy New Year, Frauds!

Connecticut 71, West Virginia 81.
Told you they were frauds. The ‘awesome’ freshman center, Hasheem Thabeet, who supposedly was thinking NBA? Played a whopping 22 minutes, shot 0-for-3, and made 4-of-10 field goals. It’s going to be fun watching Roy Hibbert eat this kid alive. Glen Davis of LSU is going to own him next week.
For comedy on this Sunday morning, go check out the message board link below. Man, those Huskies fans are nuts.

Yeah, I remember how last year’s UConn team was a fraud when they opened Big East play by getting stomped by Marquette.
Jesus, it was the first real road game for a team with 8 freshmen against a tricky 1-3-1 defense and a team that appears to be fairly talented. I don’t think anyone was saying they should have been a top 10 team – they happened to be a warm body while other top 10 teams lost.
That having been said, they’ll get better, but they’ll still struggle to get to 20 wins.

I’m not sure you can tell much by looking at how a team of freshmen and sophomores plays in their first road game against a conference opponent… they’ll be fine, Thabeet is still a defensive beast, just very raw. Just like everyone said he was.
