As a Chargers fan, you Giants fans trash Eli and seem to relish in his relatively prolonged rise to greatness. But in spite of all your BS and willingness to kick him in the nads for anything he does, on or off the field, you got the better deal on that draft day. We all knew it and got reminded of it during that loss to New England. Rivers is good enough for now, but he doesn’t have Eli’s potential. Many of us firmly believe our Chargers team around Eli would not only have us in the hunt today, but favored to win it all. Rivers’ offense scored 20, 20, 21 and 24, and the Chargers won those games. Eli’s offense scored 20, 20, 21 and 22 and lost those games. Eli’s stats in his last 4 were above Rivers’ stats… what Eli didn’t have was, in a word… defense. Hold onto Eli you ungrateful Giants fans… treat him like gold, because he’s going to take you to the Super Bowl… something Rivers will never do for us.
