So Where’s Olbermann? And More Importantly, What’s With This Rebecca Lobo Story?
Uncategorized May 7th. 2007, 2:54pm
Sports talk radio has never been our forte or captured our attention. It has this feeling – coined by Nietzsche, perhaps? – of eternal recurrence: wash, rinse, repeat. The [home team here] should trade [pile of shit] for [pile of gold], x is so much better than y, and it’s time to fire [home coach] and replace him with [impossible-to-land coaching legend]. Anyone else feel like this is what goes on daily in sports talk radio world? So we let the readers tell us what’s happening in this repetitive world, and toss it out there for you to chew on.
Remember when Dan Patrick’s sidekick, Keith Olbermann, obliterated the nebbish Colin Cowhered a few weeks back on ESPN radio? Apparently, Olbermann hasn’t been heard from since on Patrick’s show. Has ESPN suspended him again, or is Mr. Newsman just busy?
A reader writers:
I’d guess about a year ago they expanded Olbermann’s time on the show by having him co-host for an hour a day, from two to three o’clock eastern time. He’s had some days off, even a week or so here and there, but never two straight weeks. Of course, Olbermann has been busy on MSNBC with both party debates over the past few weeks, but I’ve heard murmurs that he’d been suspended by ESPN. Too bad, Cowherd is a real no-talent in my opinion. I miss Kornheiser in that morning spot.
Olbermann’s had his issues with the 4-letter in the past, but the two seemed to be carrying on swimmingly for the last year. If that bores you, then how about this little nugget: Olbermann once briefly dated Rebecca Lobo, and then may or may not have stalked her.

i don’t want to be a dick here, but hasn’t it gotten to the point where you have to stop saynig “we” in your posts?

I heard ESPN Radio ads over the weekend where Dan Patrick said, “The return of the Big Show this week,” so maybe K.O. did have a Tony Kornheiser-like forced vacation.
But nobody’s talking about it.

I was thinking almost the same thing as lozo, you guys put ‘we’ in almost all of your posts… how is it possible that four guys can agree on absolutely everything?

Anyone who has actually listened to Dan this week has heard him say repeatedly that no, Keith was not suspended from The Worldwide Leader. KO was in LA all last week for the GOP debate, where he anchored the pre- and post- debate shows. The week previous was a combo of sick days (he was not on Countdown those days either) and being out for the Dem debate.
And the Rebecca Lobo stuff? That gossip is waaaay past its expiration date!

Thanks, Becky.

It’s the royal ‘we’ and I’m ok with it.

KO is on the show today.

Glad to hear Olbermann is back.
As for ‘we’ … well, great minds think alike! Or something.

Wow. A shot from lozo after he did so well with the opportunity your vaca presented him.
No loyalty.

Olberman is witty, and intelligent. Cowherd is a bumbling banana dick nose with feathered hair.
Olberman took a shot from college drop out Cowherd, and he returned a shot in kind. It was quite civil and urbane.
Good lord, somebody, please get rid of Cowherd! I only listen to sports radio during drive time, and I refuse to listen in the morning with this uninformed simpleton spewing nonsense.
Hey couscous, hey cupcake, do you understand? you suck.

I cannot believe everyone here loves KO. In ATL, I listen to the sports station whenever I’m in my car EXCEPT after Cowherd whenever DP is on with KO. It is extremely boring listening to two guys who think they are above their audience.
