AC Milan-Liverpool Open Thread
Uncategorized May 23rd. 2007, 5:10pm
The Champions League Final between AC Milan and Liverpool is on today at 2 p.m. ESPN, seemingly on (bad pun alert) a soccer kick – it probably has something to do with David Beckham and the MLS and ratings – is actually promoting this game rather heavily, and will televise it.
We hope some readers out there will be watching, and if you feel compelled to leave updates in the comments, we’d appreciate it. We won’t be in front of a TV, so we’ll be relying on your updates. Our pick is Liverpool, 2-1.

This is as bad as the mainstream media shoving the WNBA down our throats.

KC – The World Cup is the 2nd best sporting event on the planet. Second only to the NCAA tourney.
Smyth is a legend. I want his voice on my alarm in the morning. ‘Romario is a fat little piggy. He dribbles in space …’

Goal, Milan!
Looked moderately controversial as the ball came off his sholder/elbow area.

TBL –
1st … this isn’t the world cup.
2nd … No one else in the world gives a damn about the NCAA tourney besides Americans. I have no clue where you came up with that. Hell, the national title game wasn’t even the highest rated tv event in America the night it was played.

Damn. Gerrard will have to settle for 1-for-2. Marrying the hot blonde with epic jugs.

KC must not be a gambler the NCAA Tourney is a high holy week
and the UEFA Cup is a pretty big deal to soccer/futball fans I was a bit bummed when Man Utd was knocked out losing its chance at the treble chance.
but I have their Premiership championship to help me get over it

KC Resident: how is this like getting the WNBA forced upon us? Maybe I don’t watch enough ESPN, but I didn’t see a single promo for the UEFA match, and all we got on the website was a box on the right. Which is not much considering the Champions League Final is the championship of ALL the club teams in Europe (read: a really big event).
I closely follow the big 3 American sports, but I also really like soccer and would definitely watch if more of it was televised. The MLS is a start, but that’s like watching the D-League. Pro sports should be at the highest level.
