The Roundup: The Curly One Talks to a Blog and Heather Mitts May be on the Market

Well folks – now we’ve done it. With the NBA draft creeping upon us, we felt the urge to buy our first jersey. Not one of those authentic jerseys that run $200, but one of the second-tier types that look cool and are closer to the $100 mark. Why now? Because the jersey fad is over. You may recall us once mentioning a fondness for a certain jersey … so this is the one we got … the photo here is Jessica Biel from the new GQ magazine … if you’re waiting for our mock NBA draft, it’s coming Monday, because we’d hate to do one earlier and have trades go down over the weekend.
Dan Shaughnessy talks to a blog, calls anonymous bloggers ‘the new crank phone calls.’ (Atlanta Eagle)
We should just email Jason Gay over at GQ and tell him this cover story on Jessica Biel is the worst ‘celebrity interview’ ever. Really, it’s terrible. It’s basically a wikipedia entry of her, minus a mention of her Esquire cover. The photos rock, though. (GQ)
Speaking of men’s mags, Esquire just got beheaded for mailing in a cover story. (Slate)
Tom Brady’s baby mama just landed a new TV show. (Bottomless Chips)
Heather Mitts and AJ Feely may be kaput, so we’re moving to Philly this weekend to throw our hat in the ring. (Sports by Brooks)
Very cool breakdown of the NCAA tourney vs. the BCS vs. the College World Series. (The State)
We’ve railed on Tampa’s Joe Henderson before, and we’ll do it again now that he wants Elijah Dukes shipped out of town. (Tampa Tribune)
Pretty cool montage of old-school Ali photos. (TIME)
Alexi Lalas remains batshit crazy. (We are the Postmen)
Someone has taken the time to splice a video of Mike Vick and dogs. (Sons of Sam Malone)
Looks as if the Denver Post hockey writer who went off on an ESPN tirade has removed his blog post. (All Things Avs)
A bunch of Redkins poking fun at QB Jason Campbell. (Bog TV)
We don’t know Rangers owner Tom Hicks, but he really seems like an imbecile. (Rumors and Rants)
Wikipedia totally skews pop culture over history, and Lost’s John Locke is evidence. (Wall Street Journal)

Jason Campbell wearing heelys is hilarious.
And he does sound a little like David Banner eating Tostitos.

Henderson is one of the reasons I don’t read the papers in Tampa. As I suggested in D-Rays blog: Dukes for Milledge, straight up.

Re: That State article comparing the BCS, March Madness, and the CWS.
“CWS: ESPN offers no-frills coverage, at least until it discovers the sport’s Dick Vitale.”
I doubt anyone’s noticed but the four-letter’s CWS coverage is anchored by Erin Andrews. And Orel Hersheiser. Which means it’s very possible that throws to the two of them from Bristol to Omaha could include this: “Orel? Erin?” and this: “Thanks for that. Orel. Erin.”

The BCS vs. NCAA tourney vs. College World Series. It’s kind of a joke. Wow a shocker, NCAA tourney won.

Great Deal Jordi…fresh starts for both of them since “The Mill” is obviously out of the good graces of the Mets…
