Now Capturing the NBA Zeitgeist: Stephon Marbury
Uncategorized July 23rd. 2007, 3:31pm
Has Stephon Marbury become the most compelling figure in the NBA? Kobe? Gil Arenas? and Steve Nash is wicked fun to watch, but who can top Marbury’s recent endorsement of happy juice?
“People are saying that I’m crazy and that I’m on drugs, and I like that they’re saying that,†Marbury said Friday while riding to the next stop on his tour, Marion, Ind. “It’s called happy juice.
On those who speculated that he called his wife his “better ho†on a recent local TV appearance: “They need to check themselves, because if they think that I was going to be able to go home after calling my wife a ho, that’s crazy. I said my better half, and my words got caught up so it sounded like I said ‘better ho.’
It’s undeniable, everyone: Marbury rules. Double dog dare you to find an NBA player we should care more about than the one-time self proclaimed best point in the NBA.

Gotta agree with Sean and Larry… I didn’t know anyone took Marbury seriously.

Marbury will become relevant once he wins a playoff series. Until then, his “happy juice” isn’t doing a lot for Knicks fans.

I can’t wait for the inevitable, “White man’s trying to steal all of Starbury’s thunder by getting busted for point shaving the same time brother’s tryin to promote his sneeks” argument that sure enough will drive everyone to insanity.

People need to stop hating on Starbury. Yeah, he’s not the greatest. He ain’t won ish. But he’s selling affordable shoes to kids and I think his reference to loving his sister was just an awkward way of explaining himself. I can respect the man……the player, not so much….until he realizes he needs to pass first.

I agree with TC. You may not have to agree with everything in his past but you to respect the fact that he is trying to do something positive.
