Are You Ready for Matt Leinart’s Child Support Battle?
Uncategorized July 25th. 2007, 1:52pm
Here’s a story that probably won’t make any of the mainstream media outlets: Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart has been extremely generous with his baby mama – reportedly giving her a car and about $6,000 per month, according to intrepid gossip site TMZ.com. However, the word is that the former USC basketball player is seeking $30,000 per month, and Leinart’s pissed (shocker!).
A court date is set for August 13. That’s two days after the Cardinals first preseason game against Oakland. We don’t know if Brynn Cameron was on track for a big payday in the WNBA, or what her grades were like. Maybe she was pursuing a career in law or she was a budding hedge fund superstar. But $360,000 a year? Man, those preschools in SoCal must be mad expensive.
Don’t you just love the NFL subplots? Between the arrests and Vick and the celebrity drama (Brady, Leinart), this could be the most fun NFL season in years. Our NFL previews start next week, and you can be damn sure the Vikings are dead last. The Cardinals will be firmly in the NFC playoff mix.

Lets not make Leinart out to be some kind of Dad of the Year though, per his baby mama’s comments recently.

Child support isn’t based on what the mom and kid can survive on. It’s based on how much money high-powered lawyers can get a judge to agree to fuck the dad. In this case, since Leinart was playing hide the salami with Paris “STD” Hilton while this gal was pregnant, I’m all for him getting shafted.

Have you been to SoCal? It *is* mad expensive out there.
Besides, 30K? Leinart spends that much on spilt liquor in a week.

Support is based differently in different states as far as I believe, I know mine was based on making each household “equal” as we have shared parenting. If he has settled for a co-parent situation there’s little chance his lawyer didn’t mention the f*ckin’s were coming.
On a side note – seriously the Vikings losing more than the Browns? All they have to do it win against the Lions & Packers and they should pull a better record than Cleveland, (and I’m a Cleveland fan).

KC you are an idiot…. What does Paris and the judge have to do with this dude getting shafted…. She should get what the law says, whether its 6 grand a month or 30K a month…. and i am sure paris hilton wont figure in whatever that amount is

Leinart: “I don’t know if Cole’s mother is motivated by anger or by financial gain . . .”
Jeez, Matt, you’re being too coy.

California is probably like most other states, in that “the law” does not say anything, but leaves monetary support questions open for a judge to determine on his own. Subjectively. And arbitrarily. And generally, stupidly.
I would award her 0$ for being lazy.
July 25th, 2007 at 2:19 pm
What a greedy whore. $6,000 per month is plenty!
July 25th, 2007 at 2:23 pm
Two words for these people: Birth Control.
July 25th, 2007 at 2:25 pm
Poor Brynn.. I’m sure that after winning the sperm jackpot she expected Leinart to drop to his knees and pop the question. She should be thankful it wasn’t some Poetry major that blew his load in her (or BJ Upton, dawg).
The 6k a month will supplement the 20k a year she might make in the WNBA nicely.

Generally (and I stay out of family law for reasons like this), a judge’s mandate (in many states) is to keep child support at a level so that the child can live. There’s a bare minmum, but many states allow a judge to increase it (not all). Alimony (which CA was the first state to give to a non-married, live-in former girlfriend – of actor Marvin Lee in the 60s) would be to keep a standard of living. I can’t imagine that being given here.
NJ, for example, DOES allow child support to be increased based on income. So maybe Leinart will wind up paying that much – he’s rich now.

Savante – Satire, my friend, must escape you. It’s called jokey jokey. You have an incredibly crappy blog by the way.
July 25th, 2007 at 2:38 pm
yea i know.. i am working on it KC… I would love for you to write an article for me
July 25th, 2007 at 2:43 pm
Savante –
Ye gods. I’d be ashamed to have a link to that waste of bandwith attached to my name. I’d probably cut my fingers off or roll around in my own poo. Or bofe.
That being said, I’d love to write an article on your blog. It would be titled, “Why So Whiney and Angry, Mr. Savante? It’s Only Sports.”
Point being… I dislike Leinart, so fuck him.
July 25th, 2007 at 2:48 pm
Whiney and Anrgy???? KC Res you fit that description very well. I am just a happy go lucky chap who feels your personally dislike for this chap should have no bearing on his recent ‘domestic situation’. With that being said i will be looking forward to your article (you can email it to me) and I will work my best to get my blog up to fit your high standards. Until then Cherrio..

In NY Child Support is generally about 20% of your salary and it goes up per kid and I think it tops out at 27%. I am not certain how it is in California but is it is similar in Leinart’s case he is probably a a little below but not much…this kid is probably entitled to about 100K for the year.
July 25th, 2007 at 2:56 pm
I am sorry I used bad math…probably about 500K on his base salary alone..I don’t know his endorsements and what not.
July 25th, 2007 at 2:57 pm
Brynn Cameron would easily be the hottest player in the WNBA.
July 25th, 2007 at 3:00 pm
You know once the child went to sleep, I’d still hit that.
July 25th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
When are these negroes gonna learn…BIRTH CONTROL.
July 25th, 2007 at 3:19 pm
I’m sure I’m not the first to bring this up, but you gotta think that if he was dating this girl, there’s a good chance she was on the pill. She sees the opportunity to cash in for the next 18 years, stops taking the pill without telling Leinart, and boom you’re set for life.
July 25th, 2007 at 3:30 pm
GOLD DIGGER!! Why are all men in this country assumed to be the bad ones and the only ones to use birth control? For all we know she could of lied and said she was on the pill. Gee, how many women have done that to trap a man or for money. The court system nowadays is too favored towards mothers and giving them money to sit on their asses while fathers get screwed.
July 25th, 2007 at 3:48 pm
condoms, man….condoms.
July 25th, 2007 at 4:01 pm
She just be a crazy ass white woman
July 25th, 2007 at 4:02 pm
Condoms.. Back door.. Tonsil hockey.. You would think a dude like Leinart that has a PhD in Poonology would know these things.
And if the judge wants to make sure the child maintains the same standard of living, I imagine about $250 a month would keep him in the basement of grandma’s house. It isn’t like she had lived with Leinart for 5 years when this happened.
July 25th, 2007 at 4:22 pm
Child support is generally based on the incomes of the parents. It can turn into a windfall for the custodial parent if, as here, the non-custodial parent makes 7 figures a year.
Don’t like it – then have Cali change the law.
July 25th, 2007 at 5:01 pm
Definite MILF material
July 25th, 2007 at 5:02 pm
Child support is the most bullcorn thing to father’s who are trying to do the right thing for children out of wedlock. The laws in most states haven’t change since the 1950’s. (seriously) If Matt came to her and said “look I will get you a nice car and pay 6K a month for child support”, she should be happy about that. There are women in the world that dont get a dime. Plus he has no control on how she spends that 72,000 that she will get each year. She could spend that money on everything else but the baby and try to ask for more. Honestly, what child needs 72,000 a year to live on!

Michael Strahan thinks Leinart is being offered a hell of a deal…
July 25th, 2007 at 5:06 pm
Naw…Michael Strahan was married. Leinart’s situation is different!
July 25th, 2007 at 5:12 pm
Elijah Dukes has some advice for Matt Leinart. And he ain’t even bullshittin’…
July 25th, 2007 at 5:21 pm
I, for one, have absolutely no problem with this woman going after more money. There isn’t one person here who can say they wouldn’t want free money if the law provided for it.
July 25th, 2007 at 5:55 pm
Folks, Cameron’s lawyer is just asking for an outrageous sum like most lawyers. We’ll probably see somewhere in the fifteen thousand dollar/moth range here.
Does it seem unusual to anyone else that it takes a woman seeking compensation (Strahan’s ex, Leinart’s ex, Kidd’s ex) to make these athletes more sympathetic?
July 26th, 2007 at 12:26 am
Anyone remember that it didn’t come out that she was knocked up until AFTER Leinart had signed his contract? Her family claimed that she didn’t know she was pregnant until she was four months along. Uh … yeah, right.
