Prince and Cecil, Back in the Day
Uncategorized August 9th. 2007, 9:59amWell isn’t this cute. The Wisconsin Sports Bar has unearthed a fantastic video of a young (and portly) Prince Fielder pitching to his Dad, Cecil, in a McDonald’s commercial. Warning: this may make you want to devour a Big Mac. (We prefer the McGriddle.)

I remember how novel it was the Cecil had played in Japan. It was as if he had disappeared to some mythical baseball field far, far away and then returned as an All-Star. Now, players come from Japan all the time (granted, they are…well…Japanese), but still. Back then it was all so new & interesting.

Can a player test positive for having too high a transfat reading in his system?

Ah, yes, the McGriddle.
McGriddles type Total Calories Total Fat
Bacon, Egg & Cheese 460 21
Sausage, Egg & Cheese 560 32
Sausage 420 22
Yeah, I’ll pass.

The man hit the ball out of Tiger Stadium. For that, he can eat a Crisco sandwich if he wants! He earned it!

One thing to remember Prince has one inside the park Home run and not one but two triples this season
He is a big man but he can still get around the bases and man can he crush that little white ball

The McDonald’s triple cheeseburger was outstanding. It is sorely missed.

As reward for striking him out, Cecil treated Prince to several Triples.
A tradition that Prince maintains today.

Prince probably bought Lew Ford about 27 McGriddles in thanks for his inside the park home run.

Ah, blissful days in the Fielder household. Before the gambling. Before the disowning. Before Mrs. Fielder went nuts. Prince Fielder = fellow Commodore alumnus.
