The Roundup: Blogger Bites Back, the NFL Network, and Seinfeld v. Larry King

The return of Kim K! We’re not watching her show and we have no idea if she’s still with Reggie Bush … you’re probably wondering where our redesign is, and the answer is that it’s almost here, and the switch likely will be flipped tonight … looks like the NYT did some digging into that positive jobs report from last week and found some troubling information; then, the troubling info was scrubbed away with no reasoning. Hmmm … hey, more credit card debt talk … this is some Godfather shit here … nutjob gets in a tub with 87 snakes …
A vindictive takedown of Detroit sportswriter Chris McCoksy, the guy who hates bloggers. Very funny. (Detroit Sports Rag)
Yeah, they’ve advertised with us, so perhaps we’re partial, but with three really good games on the NFL Network, we tend to side with Jerry Jones on this one. (USA Today)
Cobi Jones is … the Predator. (Sons of Steiner)
Feinstein tackles the Navy upset of Notre Dame. (Can’t Stop the Bleeding)
Yeah, our economy is in great shape … Gisele refuses to be paid in the weak US dollar. (Bloomberg)
D Wade has zero interest in returning to the winless Heat anytime soon. (The Howeva Files)
Curt Schilling, likely returning to the Red Sox. (38 Pitches)
Also Red Sox-related: Boston parties like its the 80s. (Inside Track)
Trashing Steven Jackson’s fantasy football team. (Mister Mittens)
We start our college hoops preview this today, and here’s a blogger that likes Ohio State as a sleeper. (Making the Dance)
The ladies of the OC or Gossip Girl? Legit question. (My Teams are Cursed)
Andy Pettitte opts out of his Yankees contract, meaning one of two things: he’ll come back with the Yankees for another year (with the option for a second) or he’ll retire. With all the steroids talk swirling, we surmise that he’s done. (NY Post)
That tremendous Seinfeld rip job of Larry King … but it doesn’t make his wife any less annoying. (Gawker)

While I loved the show, Seinfeld is still a smug little prick. Larry was baiting him and Seinfeld came off looking like a whiny little baby.
That Navy game was fun. I am a little partial towards Navy as I was once apart of that organization, but to think of the talent level that is on both squads, it is still nice to see the underdog go into ND and beat them.

Of the entire Roundup, this is what stuck in my craw…
“Contracts starting now are more attractive in euros because we don’t know what will happen to the dollar,” Patricia Bundchen, the model’s twin sister and manager in Brazil, said in a telephone interview in September from Sao Paulo.
Photos of them frolicking would be appreciated.

Is a weak dollar that bad of a thing? I always thought a low dollar encourages other ppl to shop in the U.S because they can now buy more with their foreign currency.
oh…. and I want to rest my head on K K’s posterior.

If Gisele don’t like the American dollar, Gisele ought to take her ass back to Brazil.

I wonder if Pettite’s taking time to decide whether or not to accept 16 million dollars for next season has anything to do with the soon to be released Mitchell Report? If he’s not mentioned watch Andy P. swoop in and accept that deal in a heartbeat. There is no way he can walk away from 16 million. No way.

D Wade is a puss. I’ll never forget that guy crying — and getting pushed off the court in a fucking wheelchair! — after he hurt his shoulder. MJ would have stayed in and shot lefthanded.

TBL: Can u start a “Brady please dump Gisele” movement using the interweb?

A weak dollar is good short term, but long term it will cause foreign investors (China) to not want to hold US gov’t credit, which is a very bad thing. Not to mention what would happen if the dollar gets so weak as to cause it to get uncoupled from oil. Inflation, inflation, inflation.
Go Cavs.

That is too much power for one poster.
But here is a small list:
1. Petra Nemcova or Alessandra Ambrosio. U know, just in case he really has a thing for models now.
2. Jessica Alba. A take home to mom kind of girl who looks like she has a dirty mind.
3. Angelina Jolie. Superbowl MVPs is all good and all, but seriously, taking her from Pitt…..that sir, could only be defined as pimp.
Of course to each his own, but Brady can do a lot better than Gisele.

Shocking.

Are we just letting the Fabulous Moolah’s death go by without a post? Did I miss it? I thought TBL covered this kind of stuff. RIP Moolah.

Garbage like Feinstein’s column is a prime reason why television executives think we’re interested in Notre Dame.
If somebody picks up the Notre Dame/Stanford game, I give up.

If Cobi Jones is the Predator, who’s the Eraser?

A weak U.S. dollar would normally encourage tourism and investment in the short term because of the increased purchase power of foreign currency here. But with the increasingly low view of the world towarsd the U.S., tourism has declined. So much for that silver lining.

Don’t surmise, you might hurt your head.

TBL, why the hell would you side with the NFL on the cable issue? Until the NFL allows the Sunday ticket to be on cable, it has no right to dictate to the cable companies that the NFL Network should be on basic cable (which it shouldn’t, just like the Big Ten network). The NFL’s argument boils down to this: it’s ok for us to prevent 90% of america from getting more NFL games, but it’s not ok for cable companies to charge people extra for the privilege of having more games. It’s just bs, pure and simple.
