Twenty Great TV Minutes
Uncategorized November 7th. 2007, 12:54pm
We’re watching the Knicks rally against the Nuggets last night behind the Balkman. Time’s about 9:55. Then, we noticed Last Kiss is underway, and something about that scene at the frat party where Rachel Bilson is grinding on the movie’s hero, Zach Braff, is an absolute must-see for us everytime it’s on (single guys may not understand this). But Wedding Crashers is also starting! And that’s probably one of our Top 5 comedies of all-time, especially the first 45 minutes or so. Which do you quit? Knicks up four with :13 seconds left and Melo’s at the line … probably locked up. Bilson sultry and eager … then Owen and Vince lying and scoring and we’re laughing at “what are you going to do for an encore, walk on water?” and “jabroni!” … then it’s back over to watch Braff get slapped by his pregnant girl in a scene that makes 10 out of 10 men squirm … and back to Wedding Crashers for two of Vince’s now legendary lines: “the proper girl in the hat just eye-fucked the shit outta me” and “I’m a cocksman.”

TBL, do you ever leave your home?

Rachel Bilson is hot but I would have to go with Wedding Crashers over her and especially over Isiah Thomas and the Knicks.

This one baffles me.

Speaking of Zach Braff, am I the only person routinely expects the commish of the More Taste League to call the non-sanctioned beer drinkers “Newbie”, “Nancy”, “Barbie”, etc.? I think this every time those commercials come on. I can’t be the only person who thinks this, right?

Wedding Crashers is great. Last Kiss I have not seen, but I’m pretty sure it looks like garbage. I’m a bit Braff’ed out. Garden State was a homerun. Since then he kind of bugs me.

I think the same thing Iggy….

OK TBL…. LOCK IT UP !
November 7th, 2007 at 1:28 PM
no, YOU lock it up!

Rachel Bilson is hot as hell in the movie. I don’t know how any guy could have resisted her. That whole movie is a big kick in the balls to most men who are in their late 20’s/early 30’s.

It’s the first quarter of the big game and you want to toss up a Hail Mary! I’d like to be pimps from Oakland or cowboys from Arizona, but it’s not Halloween! Grow up, Peter Pan! Count Chocula!
Who is the more intense competitor “Sack” the douchy boyfriend, or Steve “First team, place at the table!” Lattimer?

Where’s the Lozo comment?

I didn’t get Last Kiss at all. I would definitely pick Jacinda Barrett over Rachel Bilson. Bilson is cute and tries to be sexy, but JC is the real deal. I guess settling down with hotness even all preggered out still appeals to more than risking it all for a cute little pixie. Plus she was on Real World London, the best RW ever, because they did absolutely nothing. Bilson does havet he fact her dad writes for Flash at DC going for her, but I’m sticking with the Australian hottie. If Bilson dons the Little Miss Vixen outfit, well, then we have a battle on our hands.

Last Kiss was a horrible, horrible movie. But I must admit: Bilson was incredibly not.

We’re on the other side of the looking glass.

John Sears is on point here. (Anyone know where he stole that name? Sears of course is the keg house member who banged and ditched Kelly in high school, then was a jerkoff to Steve Sanders in college. Sears eventually got blackballed by KEG.)
It’s a good but not great movie, but overall asks an interesting question. Married people … do you remember the last chick other than your wife that you’ll ever kiss?

Last Kiss was a terrible adaptation of a much better Italian film. For some reason, I cannot stand Zach Braff outside of Scrubs.

Oh … do i ever leave the house? Not when i have to.
You’ve got the net and you’ve got TV and tivo and unlimited wheat thins … what else is there?
November 7th, 2007 at 2:06 PM
John Sears is the father of Lucas and Nathan Scott. And he is still an ass.

As far as party grinding goes, apparently you need to be caught up on your School Daze.

And you think I can be bought off with two free iPod nanos now?

“Oh … do i ever leave the house? Not when i have to.”
The city is too dangerous for such travels.

The streets of Brooklyn are just too gritty for TBL to take his chances outside.
November 7th, 2007 at 2:45 PM
Nice pull TBL on Sears. The episode were Sears dates Steve’s ex Celeste is one of the all time best. Sears just added to the absurdity that was Steve Sanders.
And lets call it an homage not a theft.

Holy cow, can I get someone to talk about Alf and Dallas?
I’m f**king old.

For those of you not up on it…ScottVanPeltStyle is dropping knowledge. This is what a grind session at a party is all about. Be patient…the good stuff starts about a minute in.

I love Alf, and I think there should be a picture of him for Friday’s roundup – lol.
I bet TBL gets great bagels in Brooklyn…and awesome pizza. As a Queens transplant living in Eastern Pa., I miss good Chinese, and those above mentioned items.

Agreed on that movie “talking to late 20/early 30 year olds” – the wife and I fought for 3 days after watching it – don’t know why, but I know the movie and fight were related.

Agreed about the first 45 minutes of Wedding Crashers being top five of all-time great comedy fare.
However, I didn’t see anything special about the Last Kiss video clip. Maybe it’s because I’m a single guy.
