Remember when Mavericks coach Avery Johnson flipped out at the NBA Finals two years ago? Seems like maybe he could be ready for another explosion in light of all the Mavs’ recent troubles. They’re just 12-8 heading into tonight’s game against the Jazz. Nobody seems to know why Dallas isn’t playing defense, and you can be sure that if this continues, the talking heads will wonder why Dallas didn’t deal for Kobe this summer. Perhaps more troubling is that Dallas is already five games back of 17-3 San Antonio in the Southwest, and the Spurs went 2-0 this week without Tim Duncan. Once you’re done watching Tebow take home the Heisman tonight, and when you’re drunk due to excessive eggnog intake, check in on this game. We smell a Utah win and an Avery explosion.
PS – Anyone know why Kevin Durant and Seattle only win on weekends? Three of their five wins are on Fridays, including last night’s triumph over Milwaukee on the strength of 35 from Kevin Durant.
I would “check it out” but I don’t get whatever channel the game is on. It isn’t on national TV.
Just out of curiosity, how come there are no complaints about the douchy NBA withholding these games from their fans the way NFL fans complain about the NFL network?

avery johnson is a miserable little man. his personal vendetta against his point guard (hi, devin harris!) is killing this team.
