Thanks, SI! Too Bad We Had No Speech Prepared
Media Gossip/Musings December 21st. 2007, 11:31am
Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch has doled out his 2007 Media awards and we’re on the list! Pretty cool. We were a runner-up in the Best Non-Corporate Sports Website category. Pro Football Talk was the deserved winner. This is the second year in a row we were named, and we’d be remiss to take all the credit, for without the help of our readers, we wouldn’t garner this kind of accolade. Plus, the honor will certainly ease the pain of losing this tournament to Fire Joe Morgan.
Other winners included: Fox’s Jay Glazer (person of the year) and Verne Lundquist (announcing team).

Yes, congraulations, well deserved.
As far as the bracket, I think the one that TBL is in will be the only hotly contested region, with TBL vs. FJM in an epic regional final. The other three spots in the final four, in my humble opinion, should be going to KSK, Leather, and Deadspin.

Deitsch always writes good columns…his work is like what Phil Mushnick would be if he weren’t completely blackened inside

Why don’t you dudes compile a list of your favorite sports blogs? I’m sure you’d be mentioned on Hot Clicks, and would increase your chances for SI being on your jock next year.

Ben, ditto here. Those are the blogs, along with TBL, that I hit several times everyday to get through the long work day. I also hit uniwatchblog because I have a pedantic side to me that needs fulfillment. And as I plan on doing absolutely no work today, I’ll actually get to read all of these in full.

I call shenanigans. Charles “He’s Got a Run Pass Option” Davis was tabbed best newcomer. Richard Deitsch even sited Chuck for his outstanding work during last year’s Fiesta Bowl.
Oh, Deitsch didn’t listen to the game because he was in the box? Oh, okay. Well, Richard, let’s recap Chuck’s insightful commentary.
He’s Got a Run/Pass Option on this play. Repeat 87 times.
To mix it up, use He Needs a Run/Pass Option on this play.
Chuck did manage to make bland Midwesterner Barry Alverez sound, you know, alive. Too bad Chuck could not work his magic during the 1984 presidential election because Chuck would have made bland Midwesterner Walter Mondale , you know, exciting.
