Mark Prior’s Marriage to the Cubs is No More

Can anyone help us with this one? Is there tampering in baseball? We’re too lazy to look it up. According to the Chicago Tribune, Prior would take early-morning walks in his tony San Diego neighborhood in November … and bump into a neighbor by the name of Kevin Towers. He happens to be the GM of the Padres. So they’d get to talking … and yada, yada, yada, the oft-injured righty signed a one-year deal with the Padres Wednesday. We’re mostly kidding about the tampering – like it matters, Prior didn’t seem to have any interest in going back to Wrigley, and the Cubs weren’t exactly doing all they could to keep the guy who finished third in the Cy Young voting in 2004.
So. The second-best staff in baseball (Red Sox) takes a flier on a low-risk, high-reward 27-year-old. Smart move? Damn right. Now if these guys could only get some hitting … and we mean more than Jim Edmonds.
We’re taking those fraudulent Sun-Devils +2.5 tonight against Texas (hello!), and we like NC State +3 on the road at Seton Hall. We’re off to return Christmas presents – get those book recommendations in, people. Oh, and in our ongoing quest to flood the zone with Mischa Barton arrest coverage … here she is leaving the police station this morning. A total Marissa move, indeed.

There is tampering in MLB but if the Cubs had already told Prior that they were going to Non-tender him (which is entirely possible)I am pretty sure they won’t care that much.

Wow, Rudy Carpenter is a total piece of shit. And his gay wrist tatoo only adds to his gayness. Great pick TBL- i took Texas in the first half, and then tried parlay it into an asian hooker. THE PAC-10 SUCKS!!!

I quit watching the game after that piece of shit fumbled the fucking punt when ASU had momentum in the third quarter. I have no idea what is happening right now, nor do I care. Hit on NC State, but it pains me greatly to have wagered on a team I called a fraud all year … and then to have them get their asses kicked.

I thought I was seeing things when one of the Erickson clan (one of his sisters?) gave the shocker sign when being interviewed by Lisa Salters at the beginning of the 4th Quarter.
