@Irishmafia: The following is said with full knowledge of the Sam Bowie saga and that knee injuries don’t just go away: If Oden does not have recurring problems with that knee, he will be a better pro than Durant. I think he’ll probably be more durable (again, the knee makes this a huge if).

I like Oden’s defense and I like his ability to control the lane. I think Durant’s lack of strength will keep him an outside player and he will probably have a career arc similar to Tracy McGrady (great player, lots of injuries from long minutes and his slender frame knocked around).

For anyone who didn’t see the game, Lamar Odom didn’t even get a T called on him for all that. Instead Bennett Salvatore gave the T to Ray Allen.

Figure that one out. They called a flagrant 1 on Odom and a T on Jesus.

So does Odom get some games for that? I mean, clearly that shit was a full on football tackle. I mean shit, if you get suspended for walking onto the court during a fight (last year’s Suns), you oughta get 3 games for trying to be like Michael Strahan on a basketball court.

You think Portland is better off with ZBo? You obviously don’t watch much Blazer basketball. Besides Zach’s contract had nothing to do with him being traded. And Oden will be ROY next season.

TBL – If Portland loses, they will still have had a 13 game win streak. You seem to think a loss to Utah somehow invalidates everything the Blazers have accomplished. Within the current streak, they had 7 wins in a row against teams with winning records (including Utah and Denver twice). They’ve beaten the Pistons and Mavs outside of the streak as well. So what if they lose tonight? What does that prove to you? That teams generally don’t win 14 in a row? The key will be how they respond after their next loss.

Believe it or not, unlike Pat and Red Sox fans, Celtic fans aren’t nearly as dickish. Unlike the other teams in Boston the Celtic fans don’t seem as anxious to tell the rest of the world how great they are. The true fans, the ones who didn’t run away when the team became awful just want to see good basketball and we are enjoying the season.

Lost all respect I had for Odom. That was just pitiful on his part. And why go after Ray Allen, the most mild mannered man in the NBA? Cheap. But If I was forced to wear fruit of the looms in public I might be looking to take out my frustration on someone as well.

70 win talk is silly IMO though the Celtics do have the same record as the 72 win Bulls at this point. Celtics and Pistons next Saturday night ….
