Giants vs Bucs – Playoff Pandemonium!
NFL January 6th. 2008, 1:53pm
I’m a few minutes late for my “official” pick to count, but for what it’s worth, I’m taking…
Bucs 31- Giants 10
As I write they’re already up 7-0 and they look pretty good. The Buccaneers that is.
The Giants on the other hand look…what’s the opposite of sharp? Oh yeah, Eli Manning.
Manning is currently sitting at 3-5 for 13 yard 5-8 for 40 yards and threatening to score. Guess I should post quicker.
Have I mentioned how dangerous it is to browse cheerleader pictures while your girlfriend sits next to you glaring? I’m in fear for my life over here, so be happy with this Bucs cheerleader – she might be the last I ever see.
It’s good to see that the Giants are (hopefully) going to make a game of this. I’ll be back around towards the end of this game to reveal my big pick for the Chargers/Titans game.
Update: Eli Manning apparently cares not what I think of him – Touchdown Giants. 7-7
On an unrelated and possibly more interesting note, the Fan House is reporting that Cam Cameron is already looking at another offensive coordinator position. I guess at 0-16 you’re an untouchable, but at 1-15 you’re a commodity. Impressive. He turned an offensive coaching gig on one of the most talented offenses in the NFL into a head coaching gig. Then he turned one of the worst seasons in history into a gig with a less talented team. Just wait, Bulger, Holt and Jackson will stay healthy for a whole season and he’ll [Cameron] be running the Ravens or 49ers into the ground in 2009!

Thanks

That is a tremendous photo. God bless that cheerleader for the sacrifices she has to make to do her job.
January 6th, 2008 at 2:10 PM
Amazing…just looked up the bucs cheerleader, Jennifer Summers, she is a USF grad!!! I love that school.

@Owl: Unfortunately, her boyfriend wrote all her papers so she could stay eligible.
January 6th, 2008 at 2:17 PM
It gets better, turns out that’s not USF grad Jennifer Summers. It’s USF GRAD Rachel Watson. They are all over the place.
January 6th, 2008 at 2:20 PM
Ladies and Gentlemen, give it up for Ms. Rachel Watson! Good work Owl X. And thank you USF for providing us with plentiful poon.
Happy The Wire day everyone!
January 6th, 2008 at 2:21 PM
This game is unwatchable. What a stinkfest.
January 6th, 2008 at 2:26 PM
CRM, next time your girl snarls at you for checking out skin pics, turn to her, raise your eyebrow and say, “Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?”
January 6th, 2008 at 2:31 PM
FanHouse isn’t “reporting” anything — they’re just regurgitating what Mort and Glazer said. Come on, CRM, you’re better than that.
Man I hope NYG can hold this lead (let Eli loose!) — I cannot stand watching this Tampa team.
January 6th, 2008 at 2:34 PM
Don’t worry Mike NYC, the Gints are going to pull this one out.
January 6th, 2008 at 2:49 PM
Fan House is reporting that Jay Glazer and Chris Mortenson are reporting. And I reported that. So if anyone of you blog about this I hope my report is properly reported.
January 6th, 2008 at 2:52 PM
That girl’s on the “Making the Squad” series on NFL Network–amazingly, not even the hottest one.
On a related note, is Pam Oliver doubling as a Bucs cheerleader today? Or maybe she came to the game straight from the club.
January 6th, 2008 at 2:56 PM
And my prediction for the game is looking officially mucked.
January 6th, 2008 at 2:59 PM
Garcia suddenly channeled Chad Pennington’s arm strength on that interception.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:04 PM
On a totally unrelated note, is anyone watching Randy from ‘The Wire’ having a birthday party on MTV’s ‘Super Sweet Sixteen’ right now?
January 6th, 2008 at 3:04 PM
Are the Giants willing to stay at 17 points? Man this team lacks killer instinct.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:08 PM
@TheUnreliableNarrator – Great call. I haven’t seen this one yet.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:09 PM
Pigskin is exactly right. The GMen always seem to take their foot of the pedal at the wrong time. There are still 17 minutes left in the game – a 10 point lead here is nothing. Let Eli wing it around a bit!
January 6th, 2008 at 3:09 PM
Yes but the Buccaneers lack an offense right now
January 6th, 2008 at 3:15 PM
It looks like both teams are fine with their current scores.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:18 PM
Elisha is looking sharp
January 6th, 2008 at 3:22 PM
Touchdown Giants. Game over.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:22 PM
Wow, what a drive. Go Eli!
Heh.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:26 PM
Dare I say career defining drive?
January 6th, 2008 at 3:27 PM
@Mike NYC – My career as a prognosticator doesn’t appear to be taking off. Personally, I blame Jeff Garcia.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:29 PM
@CRM: Jerry Falwell always said gays would ruin everything.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:29 PM
Oh, I thought TB would cover in this one as well. Luckily, I didn’t wager. Color me (pleasantly) surprised with the Giants here.
SEA/GB + NYG/DAL next weekend, not too bad. Now if the Chargers can take care of business we’ll also have SD/IND + JAX/NE.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:31 PM
So I guess this settles the “rest guys or don’t rest guys” debate once and for all.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:32 PM
are you sure the Jaguars won last night ? that’s not what I saw.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:32 PM
Nah what will the talking heads have to discuss for the last three weeks of the season every year
January 6th, 2008 at 3:35 PM
The AFC games next week should be sweet as hell.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:35 PM
on the “rest guys or don’t rest guys” front – I don’t buy either school of thought. If resting guys hurts then why don’t you ever hear “This is really a horrible week for the bye” during the season? They’re pros. It all comes down to the week of preparation before that game.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:36 PM
1. Bears GM Jerry Angelo better be calling Cam Cameron’s agent every hour on the hour.
2. This game has been the most boring of the weekend. Nice of Gruden to start the no-huddle at the 3 minute mark.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:36 PM
Hey Joe Buck, can you tell the story about that 2003 NFC Wild Card game again, the one between the Niners and Giants? Thanks
January 6th, 2008 at 3:39 PM
I question this kick off down two scores here.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:40 PM
Weeze, they mentioned that game last night, while the Steelers were coming back from a big deficit in the 4th quarter to beat the Jags.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:40 PM
Why the fuck did they not onside kick there? You’re down two scores with 3 minutes left. Jeez
January 6th, 2008 at 3:41 PM
Brave, this type of thing seems to happen weekly. head coaches thinking it’s better to kick off rather than onside kick. Id like to see the press conference for that questioning alone.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:42 PM
Did anyone just watch Lebron score 24 in the 4th quarter to lead the Cavs’ comeback? Guy is unreal.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:48 PM
How long has RW been in the league
January 6th, 2008 at 3:49 PM
I am the only one who thinks Joe Buck is an arogant bastard? I think Tim McCarver was bangin his mom.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:49 PM
That’s a pick.
Why do I have this bad feeling Vince Young is going to go 11-25, throw 0 TDs and 2 picks for 134 yards, and the Titans will still pull out a 17-13 win?
January 6th, 2008 at 3:51 PM
You have that feeling because Vince Young Just Wins Football Gamesâ„¢.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:52 PM
@Mike, I agree. You have no idea how bad it is in Houston to hear all of this shit about how all VY does is win and blah blah blah. He sucks and I think Merrill Hoge is the only one who knows it
January 6th, 2008 at 3:53 PM
I’m not happy being in a world where Eli Manning is a winner.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:54 PM
When it comes to sucking, Hoge knows a thing or two about himself and other suckees.
January 6th, 2008 at 3:55 PM
Titans/Chargers post is up – *Warning* May contain Vince Young fanboy material.
January 6th, 2008 at 5:14 PM
In conclusion:
Eli Manning – 1
Barbers Bros – 0
January 6th, 2008 at 5:29 PM
After about 1 quarter of the Bucs – Giants, I turned on the VH-1 Classic show counting down the top 100 one hit wonders. Two teams with no chances of going to the Super Bowl unless one of the top two teams plane crashes.
January 6th, 2008 at 10:53 PM
Seeing that Bucs cheerleader pic made me really, *really* miss my days in Tampa.
