That’s a possible conclusion after reading Jeff Goodman’s latest over at Fox Sports – Connecticut’s second-leading scorer, Jerome Dyson, is now serving a 30-day suspension from the basketball team for failing his second drug test since arriving in Storrs.

According to sources, UConn athletic director Jeff Hathaway ordered both players to take drug tests after the incident. While drug testing is allowed if there is probable cause, Calhoun was upset with Hathaway.

Hathaway, who doesn’t get along with Calhoun, also facilitated the release of a school police statement that included details of the incident.

“It was done by the athletic director,” Calhoun said after Monday night’s win against Louisville. “He’s the one who put that release out.”

Weak punishments, stealing recruits, angry at prank phone callers – Jim Calhoun, what a guy! You know what a college player’s dream coaching staff is? Calhoun and John Calipari. Nobody gets punished! In other college hoops coaching news, Kansas State assistant “coach” Dalonte Hill – who is the only reason Michael Beasley is a Wildcat – was busted for DUI last night after celebrating the landmark win against Kansas. Two final notes on Pac-10 Thursday: UCLA cheerleaders seem nice, and it’s OJ Mayo vs. Jerryd Bayless tonight.
