Salisbury rips Clayton on-air: “Tales from the Crypt”
ESPN, Media Gossip/Musings February 7th. 2008, 8:23amLast week during “4 Downs” on SportsCenter, Sean Salisbury took a rather cheap shot at his counterpart, John Clayton. Â Clayton is the “crypt keeper” according to the angry one - and Jay Harris is quite amused. Â Wow. Â That’s just a low blow. ÂÂ
Dana Jacobsen has been reprimanded for the incident already, after announcing “F*** the Crypt-keeper!” in front of a nation-wide audience. I made that part up, actually.

I will bet the people in Bristol all know Clayton has the bigger sausage though. And as Marilyn Manson once said, it’s all relative to that. Keep on keeping on Mr. Clayton.

Salisbury is a wack job that deserves to get beat up by Ditka. gotta love the crypt keepers facial expressions. He does antagonize Salisbury a lot though.

Salisbury is an insult to those bearing his name. He reminds me of any other high school football player who never matured or moved on in life. Really immature (although pretty entertaining in a car wreck sort of way).

Clayton has always been one of my favorites, as he actually brings intelligent, relevant analysis to the table. Whereas, Salisbury brings nothing to the table whatsoever. Unless you believe arrogant douchiness is a positive.

I don’t know if the hatred is a reality, though. I remember a couple of years back they did a radio show together, although they were on opposite sides of the country. Still, I remember Salisbury Steak being very nice to Clayton, and I realized the whole ‘they hate each other’ thing was a schtick.

Wow….and I still don’t know why they have a 3rd string QB (behind Moon and Wade Wilson for the Vikes in ‘87) doing commentary. I think his point that if they’re both healthy, who do you take, is valid. But what a s*i*bag.

Damn. Just had a chance to see the video (it was blocked at work). I don’t know what’s more incredible: Salisbury shitting all over his colleague or ESPN employing a football analyst who actually believes “Jeremy Shockey is a great football player”.
