Jeff Van Gundy Likes Irish R&B Singers

I know it’s just one game. And on any given day any team can go off, but does this mean the Suns aren’t for real anymore? Is the Phoenix Shaq-speramint going to work out?
I’m kidding of course – I watched about 5 minutes of the game and it was already a blowout. The only thing I’m taking away from this game is the fact that Jeff Van Gundy is apparently 15-years-old…
During the route the discussion turned to the Oscars. Van Gundy cracked these eggs of knowledge on us:
- Juno should win the Oscar for best picture.
- Christopher Mintz-Plasse should have at the very least gained a nomination for his role in Superbad. Van Gundy’s reasoning was the way he delivered the line about being a 25-years-old and from Hawaii.
- He assumes that Superbad is a better picture than There Will Be Blood – which he didn’t even know the name of.
Personally, I would just put my head in my hands and cry if Juno were to win best picture. I’ll be happy if I never see that movie again.
As for Van Gundy’s thoughts on Superbad… It was a hilarious movie. I can see how someone would be a big fan. Hell, I even own a copy. And while Mintz-Plasse did have a hilarious and spectacular debut as McLovin…come on. When Marc Jackson questioned him, Van Gundy seemed deadly serious about his McLove of Superbad.
All in all it was a weird scene. Then again, Van Gundy has been known to be a bit odd. He needed an alarm to remind him he was calling the game this afternoon.

Is Van Gundy a friendo to Judd Apatow?
And while we’re on the subject of Irish R&B singers, while no link to The Commitments?

Juno was underwhelming, at best. I didn’t hate it, I just thought it could’ve been so much better than what it was. Of course, I did learn one thing from it…if I want to become a screenwriter, the way to go is to become a stripper and blog about it. You know, because Diablo Cody was a stripper. And she wrote a blog about it. Yeah, pretty cool, no? /sarcasm

That’s it? Detroit whips the Suns by thirty in Phoenix, and it’s no big deal? I’m not saying that we should have a party or anything, but shit, all this talk about how dominant the west is all the time, and Detroit went in there and whooped some ass.
I still think the Pistons can win it all, no matter who they play.

no doubt about it SpartanFan, if the Pistons play like that, nobody can beat them. Don’t know if anyone heard Alvin Gentry during a time out. He told Amare “don’t worry about it, nobody in the league can stop that shot (Rasheeds post up shot.)”
