Five for the NCAA Bubble
College Basketball February 27th. 2008, 3:54pm
Love this Hibbert block. A simple yes or no should suffice, but if you feel compelled to delve into reasoning, so be it. Used Ken Pom for the RPI and SOS.
Virginia Tech (17-11, 8-6 in the ACC) RPI: 62 Last 12: 7-5 SOS: 53
Pittsburgh (18-8, 7-7 in the Big East) RPI: 26 Last 12: 6-6 SOS: 25
Oklahoma (18-9, 6-6 in the Big 12) RPI: 27 Last 12: 6-6 SOS: 6
St. Joseph’s (17-8, 8-4 in the A-10) RPI: 44 Last 12: 8-4 SOS: 86
New Mexico (22-7, 9-5 in the ) RPI: 52 Last 12: 8-4 SOS: 136

no, yes, yes, no, no
if it wasnt for Dejuan Summers, G Town would be lost. Hibbert is soft
February 27th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
C’mon, TBL, don’t do the UC like that.
February 27th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
What about So Ill?
February 27th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
no, yes, yes, yes, yes
and that picture is fantastic.
February 27th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
This was easy. Pitt and Oklahoma get in.
February 27th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
No for all of those dudes.
February 27th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
no, yes, yes, no, yes. That is, if there are 3 spots.
Damn Pitt, absolutely killing me. They get in on the RPI, though
February 27th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
I WAS SET UP! I SWEAR! GOD DAMN TBL MADE ME DO IT!
February 27th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
Cut the field to 32 and call it a day.
February 27th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
Virginia Tech Yes, if they get to 9 wins in the ACC they will be in, 10 would make them a lock
Pittsburgh Yes
Oklahoma Yes
St. Joseph’s No, I don’t understand why all of the sudden the A-10 is considered a 4-5 bid league this year
New Mexico – No, SOS is lousy
February 27th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Mike 32? For the best 3 weeks in sports? No way. These games of in and out are fun
February 27th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Pitt should be in the tourney. They may even squeak out a win or two…and then tank. It’s what Pitt does. God bless ‘em.

And with the 14th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft the Phoenix Suns Via Atlanta select Center out of Georgetown Roy Hibbert
/prays
February 27th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
Would be really surprised if Hibbert dropped to 14.
February 27th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
Yes, No, Yes, No, No
February 27th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
he was projected about that slot last year and this years draft has way more good freshmen if they come out
February 27th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
They have him 14 here.
February 27th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
This was a fairly easy determination: No, Yes, Yes, No, No.
The combination of the Hibbert ‘get the fuck out of here’ face and the UC ‘oh fuck’ face make that picture outstanding.
February 27th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
kid from uconn is better than hibbert. dont want to try to spell his name, but that kid has more potential than Hibbert
February 27th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Since you do it for pics of girls, I say:
no, AHHH! NO!, no, no, no, no
February 27th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
I think Sportsgal is just racist
February 27th, 2008 at 4:27 pm
can you imagine getting Roy Hibbert 14th? That Hoyas system never produces big scorers, but if you can get a legit 7 footer who can chew gum and run, plus block shots and already has a post-up game … geez, you gotta take him.
Can you imagine Roy Hibbert at C and dalembert at PF? Or Hibbert at C and Dwight Howard at PF? That’s a tough postseason frontline to penetrate
February 27th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Yes, I’m racist towards unattractive dudes!
February 27th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
i know the hibbert/ dalembert was a joke, but hibbert/ howard is a joke as well. TBl you shoudl be thinking Haywood / hibbert. Orlando will be in the market for guards, hello
February 27th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
sportsgal you should start a clan for that. But rather then go around wearing sheets on your head you seek out ugly dudes and place them on their heads.
February 27th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
Hibbert is sexy as hell and I don’t care what anyone says.
/shows self out
February 27th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
That Hoyas system never produces big scorers…
Patrick Ewing and The Answer take issue with that statement.
February 27th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
Has anyone seen this yet? Is there a better way to traumatize your children? I think not
February 27th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
No, yes, yes, no, no
February 27th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
YYSA, love your clan idea, I think it would help many of the single ladies here in Chicago!
February 27th, 2008 at 4:45 pm
Whoa whoa whoa…no need to pick on the gentleman of Chicago sportsgal
February 27th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
TBL when you say Hibbert can walk and chew gum, it might actually depend on the gum. Yes if we’re talking Wrigleys…absolutely not if we’re talking big league chew. I think he’ll be awful in the NBA. He really has trouble getting up and down the court.
February 27th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
God help the poor mid-major who gets in instead of Va Tech, Maryland or Miami…there will be hell to pay from Billy Packer on Selection Sunday
February 27th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
No, yes, yes, no, no is the answer now, but St. Joe’s and New Mexico are conference title game appearances away from making that list 4-for-5. Va. Tech could go either way depending upon how they play their next game.
February 27th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
How is Va Tech even on the bubble? The best team they beat is Maryland twice and Maryland is at 68 in the RPI. They’ve lost to Richmond, Penn state, Old Dominon and Georgia Tech. They are 2 wins away from even getting on the bubble. They’ve beaten zero top 50 teams.
February 27th, 2008 at 6:13 pm
As a VT fan, I think (barring losing their final two reg. season games) VT would need to win 2 ACC Tourney games for them to get in, along w/ a top 4 finish in the ACC because of their previous bad losses.
February 27th, 2008 at 8:42 pm
No, yes, yes, no, and maybe (depends on how many bids there are – who gets in the tourney is completely relative). Count me among the people who are baffled by this year’s A-10 circle jerk. Xavier is really good, but the rest of those teams do nothing for me.
February 27th, 2008 at 8:42 pm
Roy Hibbert will get murdered in the NBA. At best, he’ll end up being an extremely poor man’s Brenda Haywood.
February 27th, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Except Hibbert has a back to the basket game, a nice hook, and, me thinks, moves MUCH better and more fluidly than Haywood.
