… barely.  The Wolfpack led for most of the way, building a 13-point lead in the second half and Duke trailed by as many as 8 inside the 5 minute mark.  They got the win by 1 and Jon Scheyer and DeMarcus Nelson scored 19 points apiece and 3 other Duke players scored double digits.

Coach K notched win #800 in just his 1,064th game, which is pretty impressive.  For as much as we poke fun at the hypocrisy of Coach K, you have to give credit where credit is due.  For his part, Krzyzewski was humble and grateful, telling Verne Lundquist and Bill Raftery that Bobby Knight is the person most responsible…

“If I wasn’t his point guard… he’s most responsible for this.”

So cheers to Coach K.  Sure, we get tired of his awful State Farm commercials, his holier than thou attitude, his manipulating of officials, his rampant cursing and evil grin and his Chevy ads that more or less serve as recruiting ads, but we’ll brush that all aside for a few hours and raise our glass in his honor.
