Sans Yao, the Rockets are 2-0 and have a season high 14 straight wins, the longest streak in the NBA this season. Tracy McGrady scored 25 points and 6 assists to help close out February without a loss. Now in the month of March, the Rockets have 2 meetings with New Orleans and games against San Antonio and the Lakers to look forward to.
Pacers 122, Raptors 111
Your Friday upset of the night occurred in Toronto as Mike Dunleavy set a career high with 36 points and Kareem Rush added 23. Â The Pacers played without Danny Granger, Jamaal Tinsley and Jermaine O’Neal. The Raptors lost Chris Bosh after the 1st quarter thanks to a sore right knee.Â
Hornets 110, Jazz 98
Chris Paul scored 24 points, 16 assists and 5 steals and David West added 25 points and 13 rebounds. Deron Williams had 22 points and 10 assists and helped the Jazz come back from down 23-0 in the 1st quarter. New Orleans shot 63% from the field in the first 12 minutes, and had their lead trimmed to 4 in the 4th quarter before sealing the deal.
Blazers 119, Lakers 111
Brandon Roy had 20 points and 12 rebounds and LeMarcus Aldridge scored 22 for Portland. Even with 33 from Kobe, the Lakers lost for the 5th straight time at the Rose Garden. James Jones returned from a knee injury and improved the Blazers’ record to 23-12 when he’s in the lineup. They’re 8-16 without him.Â
