Did anyone actually see the Blackhawks – Ducks game last night? The highlights this morning made them out to be wannabe Broad Street Bullies… I just hope that they took as much punishment as they gave out last night.

The next person that takes out Pronger needs to do a better job. I can’t stand seeing his shit-eating grin all over the ice.

@Gonzo: East Hockey is fun because it’s faster and more goals are scored, but on the left side of the country there are hits and fights and physical play.

I went to Chi-town and the Cubs were playing the Giants (when both Sosa and Bonds playing). I didn’t have a rooting interest in either team so I just wore normal clothes, jeans T-shirt. I fit right in. Wrigley was neat, but the novelty wore off by about the third inning. If my friend and I hadn’t spotted seats right behind home on the second deck to move into, I would have been disapointed.

The best part about Wrigley was getting pizza before the game there. The friend I was travelling with, who was a kinda of prude naÃ¯ve girl, walked in on a guy getting a BJ in the bathroom. Her reaction alone was comedy at it’s finest.

weird thing about going to cards-cubs game at wrigley: before the game, both teams’ fans are getting sloshed together without much of a problem.

once inside the stadium all hell breaks loose.

after the game, they’re back getting shitfaced together almost as if nothing happened during the game.

a cards-cubs game, whether at wrigley or busch, is the closest thing to a college football game i’ve ever seen in baseball. the crown is almost always half-red, half-blue no matter if it’s in st. louis or chicago.

it’s certainly a spectacle.

@Ben: Those bars are FLOODED with talent post game. It’s painful when a dime piece is screaming curse words at you because your Cardinals absolutely worked her Cubbies. Gets you thinking that maybe you should throw on a Cubs hat so you can land a piece of the top notch trim down in Wrigleyville.

As a White Sox fan who lived for a few years within spitting distance of Wrigley, the best thing I can say about it is that the talent in the bars immediately after a weekend afternoon game is unmatched in the city.

ASU: That must be like a Phils fan like me going to a Mets game in NY, and vice versa. I was in Chicago to root on the Phils (The Cubs won). But It was a terrific time. The Cubs fans didnt get on us too much. more like good natured ribbing.

As a die-hard Cardinals fan, I can say every time I have been to Wrigley it’s been a hell of a time. The Bleachers are an intense time. When I arrive I feel like I am in prison, in the sense, that I immedately try to find a group of Cardinals fans. Safety in numbers. I don’t know how it is for other opposing fans, but for Cardinal fans it is volatile.
