When ESPN’s Rece Davis Knew He Hit the Big-Time

While not quite as popular as his dancing, crowd-surfing, co-horts on Gameday, it’s safe to say Rece Davis is a likable chap. He carries the Gameday crew, yet somehow, the guy hasn’t earned a 1,600-word feature in USA Today yet. Puzzling. On the plus side, Davis appears humble, plus he’s a fan of Brent Musburger: “I remember early on in my career working as the studio host for the NBA finals between the Bulls and the Jazz and we wrapped up in Salt Lake City and I was sharing a cab with Brent Musburger heading to the airport and I just looked over at him and thought, ‘I’m riding in a cab with Brent Musburger. This is big.’”

Brent Musberger is a very important figure in sports broadcasting figure, in a good way. Too bad he’s ruined his credibility by becoming ESPN’s official mouthpiece for USC football greatness at the end of his career.
