Texas Fans Still Peeved About Losing Darrell Scott
College Football March 7th. 2008, 12:48pm
Call us old-fashioned, but we love it when schools are fighting over a recruit – especially when the battle wages a month after the recruit’s already been signed. Darrell Scott, a pretty incredible talent from California, eschewed Pac-10 powers USC and UCLA and his selection came down to Big 12 powers Colorado (last time ending the season ranked: 2002) and Texas. In February, he selected the Buffaloes.
Longhorns fans were predictably pissed (especially with Jamaal Charles going to the NFL), and feeling other factors played a part in Scott’s decision, sounded off en masse. And some of the evidence is more than circumstantial. The Austin Sports Report has compiled it all into a tidy, easy read, and we can’t wait for Buffs’ coach Dan Hawkins to catch wind of this and scream: “IT’S DIVISION I FOOTBALL! IT’S THE BIG 12!”
Wondering about Terrelle Pryor? He’s supposedly considering Memphis, in hopes of playing football and hoops. Or not.

seriously, how can texas fans not HATE mack brown? do you really understand how big of an idiot you have to be to fuck up FOOTBALL recruiting in TEXAS?!?!?!?!?!?! dear lord.
here’s my pitch. “come to the coolest city in the country, with tons of awesome bars, the best weed outside of california, the hottest ladies, the deepest-pocketed boosters willing to do whatever the hell you want, with a nationally televised game every weekend, with the best facilities money can buy in the capital of the most football crazed state in the union. would you be interested in something like that?”

Wait. Texas thinks Colorado did something fishy while recruiting. Oh, that’s rich irony.

People who get themselves so worked up about where a high school kid decides to attend college need to do some serious re-evaluating.

There were posts on UT message boards recently accusing LSU of “illegally paying football players with casino chips.” They’re still bitter about Ryan Perrilloux. Shit, you want him? Take him. Please.

Holy Cow! Terrelle Pryor is trying to make a living in the NBA? Is he just gonna play football to stay in shape?
March 7th, 2008 at 1:14 PM
Kevin Hart wishes schools were fighting over him right now
March 7th, 2008 at 1:15 PM
Mike, I agree. But to me the only people more dispicable than the fans are the coaches, boosters, AAU coaches who snow these 16-year-olds for their own profit. And then the coach leaves for a new school before he gets there.

I guess Terrelle saw how good Charlie Ward was doing…..

Dear Texas fans:
There is absolutely nothing wrong with setting up a player’s mom with a nice cushy job.
Sincerely,
Mike Krzyzewski

Cheating in football recruiting? When did this start happening?
March 7th, 2008 at 1:46 PM
Sorry Spence but the weed in Boulder is better than Austin (more Canadian and indoor influence as opposed to the Mexi-shwag). Just ask David Harrison and Rashaan Salaam. And Texas folks need to stop whining. Can’t another school get in on the act for once!!

i heard, or read, i dont remember, that TP will come to PSU if they promise him that when paterno quits in two years tom bradley will take over the team

if pryor really wanted to play high level football and basketball, shouldn’t he go to florida? plus they run the spread offense there.
March 7th, 2008 at 2:17 PM
and sit behind tebow for two years?

The University of Texas accusing anyone of recruiting violations is a perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black. Book’em Horns!

First off, you never have to see/smell/taste mexi schwag in austin if you don’t want to.
Second, the part that pisses Texas fans off most was that Mack Brown passed up 5 or 6 big time guys from Texas to make a run at Scott. In no order they are Aundre Dean, Jacquizz Rodgers, Sam McGuffie, Justin Johnson, and Jermie Calhoun.

walfredo…i had a friend hooked into the boulder pot (he was on the UC golf team), its great, but its not austin.

Sam McGuffie isn’t Mack Brown’s type.
