Ballin’: Time to Slow it Down, Phoenix
NBA March 10th. 2008, 9:17am
Phoenix 94, San Antonio 87: In slow-down games with Shaq, the Suns have now beaten Boston and San Antonio. And they won a low-scoring affair in Portland. Mike D’Antoni, why not give it a shot? Steve Nash will adjust – he’s got 20 more games until the playoffs begin.
Sacramento 114, Los Angeles Lakers 113: Maybe whichever of the West powers decides to play defense in the postseason is the one that will win it all? The Lakers let the Kings, losers of 7 of 8 (including a Friday loss to Minnesota), score 71 points in the first half and shoot 55 percent for the game. The Tasmanian Slovenian scored 25 points, including the game-winning free throws with less than five seconds left.
Detroit 116, Chicago 109: Should Chris Duhon be embarrassed that he was benched for the game after missing the team’s shootaround Sunday morning? How about remotely contrite? Just about every basketball fan on earth saw him at the Duke-UNC game Saturday night, since his image was flashed on the screen no fewer than a dozen times. Hope it was worth it.
Toronto 114, Seattle 106: If Chris Bosh doesn’t hurry back from injury, does he have to worry about Rasho Nesterovic stealing his shots? Rasho got his fifth straight start and for the third time in that span, he topped 15 points (17). Can the Sonics win 13 of their last 19 and reach 29 victories?
Philadelphia 119, Milwaukee 97: Amazing – with four victories in a row, the 76ers are half a game within Washington for the sixth playoff spot in the East. Six guys scored in double figures, led by rookie Thaddeus Young’s 22.

Bosh should instead worry about Bargnani stealing his shots. Why was he on the court for 47:27? He (at least for this season) is their worst rotation player.
March 10th, 2008 at 9:30 am
Rockets go for 19 tonight
March 10th, 2008 at 9:30 am
What a bum Chris Duhon is, ship his ass off to the NBDL
March 10th, 2008 at 9:31 am
Lebron would have totally hit the game winner against the Kings
March 10th, 2008 at 9:35 am
Gotta wonder if those quotes will end up hurting Duhon, who i think is a free agent
March 10th, 2008 at 9:37 am
It’s surprising to hear Duhon talk like that because he’s a guy who is only really in the league because of heart/hustle/etc., and most definitely cannot get by on God-given ability or height. Perhaps it’s just a frustrating season.
March 10th, 2008 at 9:37 am
There’s a Seinfeld joke somewhere in here but I can’t think of it.
March 10th, 2008 at 9:37 am
Duhon’s not good, but you could do worse for a back-up PG. I’m sure he won’t have much trouble getting on somewhere.
March 10th, 2008 at 9:38 am
@Mike NYC: “Look at the little bastard.”
March 10th, 2008 at 9:38 am
He probably offended the wake-up guy
March 10th, 2008 at 9:45 am
Perhaps Duhon could use some Himalayan Walking Boots (from the same Seinfeld episode).
March 10th, 2008 at 9:45 am
This son of a bitch is ice-cold! (also same episode)

Some people like to have the radio alarm a little louder than the radio.
Oh please, man, please!

Great another post of comments like the Roundup where I have no clue what you guys are talking about.

This Bulls team is a mess. First was Joakim Noah with the fights with veteran players and wearing t-shirts from his National Championship with Florida to rub off on other players, then was Tyrus Thomas missing practice then it’s Chris Duhon going to the Duke-UNC game after Boylan prohibited him from going.
If he did think it was going to be caught on TV, he maybe the dumbest player on the NBA, but this action and his statement “this is not a difference, because i wasn’t going to play anyway” it’s a clear sign that he couldn’t care less about his team and teammates.
March 10th, 2008 at 9:50 am
CH4OS where did you read that Boylan said he couldn’t go the game? I thought he was just benched for missing the morning shootaround?
March 10th, 2008 at 9:55 am
Thats how they talk in the major leagues!
March 10th, 2008 at 9:56 am
On the ESPN broadcast, they showed Duhon giggling like crazy with a minute to go in the 4th quarter, like the game didn’t even matter. His minutes were drastically cut after the trade, so he could care less.
March 10th, 2008 at 9:56 am
cbh49er, i think it was on ESPN.
March 10th, 2008 at 9:58 am
There’s probably a good post in the history of Duke in the pros:
Danny Ferry – bust
J Will – accident
Hurley – accident
Dunleavy – lucked into a massive deal
Boozer – that episode where he left/f’d cleveland
Laettner – didn’t he fight with a teammate in DC or somewhere?
William Avery – bust with the T-Wolves
Who else?
March 10th, 2008 at 10:00 am
Grant Hill – Worst Luck in Professional Sports
March 10th, 2008 at 10:01 am
Cherokee Parks? Was Alaa Abdelnaby a first round pick?
March 10th, 2008 at 10:02 am
Trajon Langdon – Yuck
March 10th, 2008 at 10:03 am
Battier is probably the best of the bunch (other than G. Hill) T. Langdon was a bust too. S. Williams isn’t doing anything too impressive.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:04 am
It’s arguable that Jay Bilas has had the best career related to basketball since leaving Duke.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:04 am
@Roeth: Boozer? Elton Brand? Not doing anything for you?
March 10th, 2008 at 10:05 am
Is Battier better than Elton Brand?
S. Williams isn’t doing anything too impressive.
I thought he was still engaged to Candace Parker.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:07 am
Sheldon Williams – Stuck looking like Ken Griffey Jr. with giagntism.

Dwight Howard for MVP
what accident did Hurley get into? Last time i saw him, he looked like he ballooned to 300 lbs
March 10th, 2008 at 10:08 am
Maggette was pretty good for Duke… in that one season.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:09 am
Hurley was either drunk and got in an accident, or someone drunk hit him, cant remember the main important detail.

March 10th, 2008 at 10:11 am
Hurley was blindsided by another car one night while not wearing a seat belt
March 10th, 2008 at 10:12 am
Yeah the accident was like 15 years ago.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:15 am
Here is a Duhon thought and it is a little off the beaten path…maybe he went because as a Duke Alumni he knows that Coach K will help him find a college coaching job when his career is over. If he shows up for these big games he shows he is committed to the program and the he gets a Asst. job on the Duke bench that gets spun off into a job. I know it is a reach but what other reason could he have being there? Well maybe booze and pussy but he had to hop on a plane right after the game. Leaving little booze and pussy time.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:15 am
There you go…not wearing a seat belt means he may as well been drunk.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:16 am
Hurley had a .12 NWS at the station
March 10th, 2008 at 10:19 am
Depending on the state, that’s as much as .12 over the legal limit.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:21 am
I tried to start this argument last week. Since March Madness is around the corner TBL, why not start up a “Which college has the best current crop of players?” thread. UConn, FLorida, UNC, and Arizona off the top of my head.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:22 am
Maybe a guest commenter post Hef? Although 250 words or less would be hard.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:24 am
I’ll take the high schoolers.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:29 am
Monta, Kobe, Lebron, KG, Dwight, with Tyson, Big Al, Martell Webster, and Bynum on the bench would beat a team of College All-Stars handily.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:30 am
Yeah, you’re right, I forgot about Boozer and Brand.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:37 am
Nick – so T-Mac isn’t good enough to make your high schoolers team?
March 10th, 2008 at 10:39 am
@Nick P.- Don’t forget Amare on the HS team
March 10th, 2008 at 10:39 am
Nick- if you use high schoolers you have to use the players from their high school. Meaning if you want LeBron you have to take Romeo Travis and Dru Joyce III.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:40 am
Damn, can’t believe those slipped through the cracks. Yeah they’re on, but do they start? I think the starting 5 is set in stone.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:42 am
@rick: Good point. Luckily Dru Joyce and Romeo (don’t forget Sian Cotton)are better than what he’s played with this year anyway (Marshall-Newble, talking to you)

The Heat shut down Wade for the season.
March 10th, 2008 at 11:27 am
Don’t forget the spectacular talent that was Shavlik Randolph. He wasn’t very good to begin with, then decided to leave early. The reaction from the analysts was hilarious.
March 10th, 2008 at 11:38 am
Josh McRoberts did the same thing.
March 10th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Once again proving the old adage: Coach K doesn’t care about white people.
March 10th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
The Lakers last second plays blow. I can’t remember a fuckin game winner Kobe has hit this year. Phil needs to come up with something other than the stand-in-a-line-then-everyone-runs-away bullshit that you’re taught in 4th grade hoops. Sasha is starting to get annoying now that he shots literally every time he touches the ball. Gasol plays ZERO defense. Hopefully its just an aberration, but come on. These are must win games. Bynum needs to get his pussy ass out of the pool and back on the court. Someone tell that man they’re playing for a championship.
