Are the Ducks dirty as some suggest? Well, Chris Pronger didn’t do anything to dismiss that notion. He stomps on Ryan Kesler with his skate. As a result, Pronger is handed an eight-game suspension.

Now on to more pleasant hockey information from Saturday’s games:

New Jersey 4, Colorado 2:
Marty Brodeur made a couple of sick saves helping the Devils to a road win, which snapped the Avs’ five-game home win streak. Devils’ center Patrik Elias is still bothered by a bum left knee.

Vancouver 4, Dallas 3:
Marty Turco was supposed to have the night off. That lasted 12 shots. After Johan Holmqvist gave up three goals in the first period, Turco was brought back in to stop the bleeding and the Stars nearly pulled it off. A centering pass early in the third that bounced off of Brendan Morrison’s skate was the game-winner for the Canucks against the “gutless pigs.”

Boston 3, Philadelphia 2 (OT):
Aaron Ward’s game-winner in overtime added a tiny bit of space between the two teams struggling to stay afloat for a playoff berth. As one might expect between two teams, Riley Cote and Shawn Thornton shared some love.

Minnesota 2, Los Angeles 0:
The Wild got a key home win ending a five-game skid. Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom recorded his first shutout since October. Wild right wing Marian Gaborik needs a new barber.
