Will You Remember Where You Were When Terrelle Pryor Picked OSU?
College Football March 19th. 2008, 10:57am
We’re about to get on a subway, so we won’t be able to post the college choice of the most coveted high school senior in the world at 12:01, but we thought we’d open things up so the Michigan and OSU fans could slaughter one another in their weekly pissing contest.
Face it: the kid’s going to be a bust. He’s going to do to college football what Kordell Stewart did to the NFL – nothing. We kid, of course. He’s going dominate, like us at monopoly, or Ohio State against the SEC. Don’t you already feel bad for the Iowas and the Northwesterns of the world?
(Oh. The photo. Courtesy of a Michigan reader, of course. They’re assuming the worst.)

He could’ve been great at Michigan, he’ll be a bust anywhere else
March 19th, 2008 at 11:00 AM
It’s OSU
March 19th, 2008 at 11:01 AM
Sorry, bad link. Here you go
March 19th, 2008 at 11:02 AM
I hope he signs with Ohio St. and blows.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:02 AM
michigan is a festering wound on the ass of college football. he’d be wise to avoid AA.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:03 AM
Watching ESPU, he’s wearing an OSU hat. Guess he got paid.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:05 AM
ITS OVER! Now we can finally go back to real life again.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:05 AM
Speaking on behalf of the SEC, AWESOME! It’ll be fun to kick his ass in future BCS games.
/I keed, I keed!!
March 19th, 2008 at 11:05 AM
Who is this kid again?
March 19th, 2008 at 11:06 AM
I hate this kid already.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:06 AM
Rivals had it, too.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:07 AM
I hate this kid already
Me too
March 19th, 2008 at 11:08 AM
Go tOSU
March 19th, 2008 at 11:09 AM
he’s wearing an OSU hat. Guess he got paid.
That would have never happened at Michigan. You know, with Ed Martin being dead and all.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:09 AM
That picture is hilarious, by the way…Booster’s Millions…sadly, that could apply to any big-time program.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:09 AM
Will he play hoops too?
March 19th, 2008 at 11:09 AM
His Mom got a new job and his Dad got that tractor he always wanted
March 19th, 2008 at 11:10 AM
So how far does this up Michigan behind the 8 ball now? Do they have a QB?
March 19th, 2008 at 11:13 AM
He will dominate the Big 11, and then get routed in the BCS (unless the play Notre Dame or benefit from phantom interference calls)
March 19th, 2008 at 11:13 AM
“He didn’t get a new car, he got a Lexus. The thing was like a rolling castle.”
March 19th, 2008 at 11:14 AM
Very happy with the decision he made, although that picture is hilarious.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:15 AM
Michigan will be fine. RichRod has a couple of QB’s there already, and one on the way. I’m sure he can make some hay with his current stable. RichRod took a kid no one had ever heard of, Pat White, and made him a star at WVU. Interestingly enough, I don’t remember anyone covering Pat’s presser announcing his signing choice.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:17 AM
I think this will be a down year for Michigan. My prediction for order of finish for big ten next year:
OSU
Wisconsin
Illinois
Michigan
Penn St.
Minnesota
Purdue
March 19th, 2008 at 11:17 AM
Nick Nolte’s rant at the end of Blue Chips is the greatest part of that move…and I have no idea who this kid is but based on the hype he will amount to nothing
March 19th, 2008 at 11:18 AM
Lebron vs. Kobe argument > OSU phantom pass interference call vs. OSU legitimate pass interference call.
Actually, both arguments suck ass.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:18 AM
@atl: The funny thing is that neither is really an argument.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:20 AM
RichRod took a kid no one had ever heard of, Pat White, and made him a star at WVU.
Yeah, Nick Saban ran him away from my alma mater because he wanted him to play defense. Of course we’re talking about the same guy who picked Daunte Culpepper over Drew Brees. We’d actually have a chance of getting back if he would be here right now.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/baseball/mlb/specials/spring_training/2008/03/18/yanks.vatech.ap/index.html off the topic a little bit.
A nice feel good story
March 19th, 2008 at 11:30 AM
You there…Terrelle Pryor…may you live forever.
/300 quote
March 19th, 2008 at 11:31 AM
Terrelle Pryor signs–our long national nightmare is over.
@superjakrs: Thanks for posting that link. I usually hate all things Yankee, but what they did was class. 2 of my brothers went to Va Tech, and I can tell you that the memories of what happened will be around a long, long time. Kudos to the Yankees for their visit.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:32 AM
Maggs you making a small come back to the community?
March 19th, 2008 at 11:36 AM
Mags…the day has come. and my excitement lasted all of 8 minutes. it wasnt worth it.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:40 AM
is he going to play basketball as well for the buckeyes?
March 19th, 2008 at 11:44 AM
thatd be sweet, i guess. OSU has a loaded basketball class coming in, im sure they could give him the donovan mcnabb garbage minute treatment.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:44 AM
I’ll start caring about this kid as soon as he scores his first TD for OSU, but even as an alum, I really couldn’t care less until that day.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:46 AM
what would hold him back from playing spencer? would tressel allow that
i didnt know Lerinitis was coming back either. thats a plus as well for the D. Who is his dad again? what wrestler
March 19th, 2008 at 11:47 AM
ESPN news botched the hell out of this. Didn’t even get to the presser before he put the hat on. WBNS in Columbus didn’t do anything live with it either. Terrible!
March 19th, 2008 at 11:49 AM
Michigan has a couple of quarterbacks?
As in a redshirt freshman who no one has heard of and David Cone who is an immobile 6′6″ homeless man’s John Navarre? This is going to turn out well.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:50 AM
irish…jenkins came back too, OSU is loaded on both sides of the ball. the only bad thing is voters are going to penalize the team for losing 2x in the NC game (when they shouldnt have been in it last year…only every other team choked).
his dad is The Animal or something part of the Legion of Doom, i dont watch wrestling so i have no idea.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:52 AM
tyduffy…they did just get Justin Feagin. Feagin is Pat White 2008, unheralded QB prospect big schools wanted to play CB or WR going to a zone read. as an OSU fan, he scares me down the road.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:53 AM
@spenc: I do not understand why Lerinitis went back to school. Football is a high risk sport, he had the opporunity to get paid and passed it up. I don’t blame the kid for wanting to head back to school, money to some isn’t as important as it is to others.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:54 AM
He’ll win 3 or 4 Heismans by the time he’s done.
/jinx
March 19th, 2008 at 11:57 AM
ASU…because he enjoys OSU and his dad is loaded, so money isnt an issue. plus, i dont think he was the bonafide top-10 pick as most people assumed. im a massive OSU homer and I think the dude is pretty significantly overrated.
i would have preferred him leaving rather than big guns gholston.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:57 AM
Didn’t the 6′6″ guy transfer to Arkansas, or do they have another one?
March 19th, 2008 at 12:01 PM
Jay…they have another one. he was a 3rd string 2-star recruit signed as a roster filler. mallett, the good one, went to Arkansas where he’ll most likely shine like a fuckin diamond. that dude is a sick player.
March 19th, 2008 at 12:01 PM
spencer096, i was almost sure that the Patriots would take Lauranitis with the 7th pick. He seems the perfect fit on the Patriots “model” on the court and off the court…
March 19th, 2008 at 12:02 PM
Who? What a ****.
March 19th, 2008 at 12:03 PM
Mallet did transfer from Mich to Arkansas.
@Prof… I hate the yankees as well but a fan for the day for making the visit.
March 19th, 2008 at 12:07 PM
CH40S…if it was between Gholston and Little animal…itd be Gholston every time. Big Guns came from the hood of Detroit, was always a model citizen and improved every year he was at OSU. he’s the only guy Jake Long allowed a sack to in the last 2 years.
plus would you pass up on a 265 lb, 4.58 runnin, 42′ vertical jumpin, 37 rep bench pressin’ son of a gun like gholston who’s tailor made for a 3-4 OLB position a’la Merriman for James Lauranitis? eh, i sure as hell wouldnt.
trust me, i like lauranitis, he’s pretty solid. but the dude gets slobbed by the media like tyler hansborough does. his game is pretty good, but he was nowhere near AJ Hawk’s level. him and bobby carpenter are pretty much the same player, Little Animal just gets lucky and is around the ball.
March 19th, 2008 at 12:12 PM
Lauranitis gets paid way more in Columbus than he would as a 4th rounder in the NFL.
March 19th, 2008 at 12:20 PM
Eh, if this kid was REALLY good, he’d be going to the SEC!
March 19th, 2008 at 12:39 PM
im suprised i havent heard any tSUN fans saying how they never wanted pryor and how he has a bad attitude
March 19th, 2008 at 12:43 PM
mmonast…reading a few of the comments on mgoblog.com, theyre pissed, but they all saw it coming.
im excited.
March 19th, 2008 at 12:48 PM
the kid had a freaking buckeye sticker on his helmet at the AA game….
very excited to see him the next 3 yrs
March 19th, 2008 at 12:49 PM
yea, but that’s misleading. he showed up to the thing in a UM hoodie.
March 19th, 2008 at 1:08 PM
Whats wit the hate for Pryor? Sure he could have went to PSU, but the kid is special and anyone who has seen him play realizes that….not a sure thing, but as close as it gets….he will do well in columbus, which sucks…6′6” sub 4.3 40, find me someone else with that size and speed not to mention a laser rocket arm, next year once Tressel lets him loose, they will dominate the Big Ten, which I guess isn’t saying much
March 19th, 2008 at 1:12 PM
true spencer…i guess at the presser he said “university of ohio state” just to f with the UM fans some more
love him for that
March 19th, 2008 at 2:24 PM
UM has Feagin coming in, and to rate him as a Pat White type is fairly accurate.
Current QBs in house include Steven Threet, David Cone and Nick Sheridan. Threet is the likely starter, as he was a 5 star coming out of high school, when he signed with Georgia Tech. He later left GT and transferred back to UM. He’s more of a tall dropback passer, but by most accounts he’s more athletic than the Navarre/Henne prototype of years past.
Anyhow, I’m pretty sure RichRod will come up with a workable solution.
And mmonast, I don’t know how you think Pryor saying “University of Ohio State” f’s with the UM fans. That’s a stretch.
March 19th, 2008 at 2:26 PM
yeah thats way most good players get lucky….by being around the ball duh?
March 19th, 2008 at 2:33 PM
because ohio state is ohio state university and michigan is the university of michigan
thats why
March 19th, 2008 at 2:38 PM
mmonast,
Interesting, yet curious, interpretation. Glad it brought joy to at least one tOSU fan.
Good luck to young Mr. Pryor.
March 19th, 2008 at 2:44 PM
the kid has been playing the game all the way up to this…buckeye sticker UM sweatshirt etc etc
probably a stretch but a funny one if true
March 19th, 2008 at 2:58 PM
this just in…i had terrelle pryor’s baby just a few minutes ago.
March 19th, 2008 at 3:01 PM
Kevin Hart wants to know if he can go to Michigan since they missed out on Pryor
March 19th, 2008 at 3:13 PM
I thought for sure he would pick Michigan State.
March 19th, 2008 at 4:03 PM
(Jealous) People will rag on this kid and Ohio State for the next 3 years.
That’s the way it is in college football. If your team is behind the 8-ball, it’s because the other team is buying players. At least that’s what helps those fans (Michigan) sleep at night knowing their program sucks.
March 20th, 2008 at 1:41 PM
Eat a BIG log of dick, dude.
