2008 Culture Bracket: The Sweet 16
2008 Culture Tournament March 31st. 2008, 11:45am
Four matchups today, and four tomorrow before we whittle the Culture Tournament field to eight. Several incredibly intriguing showdowns today, perhaps highlighted by Andrews going up against David Tyree’s catch. Will the much-loved sideline siren be a match for one of the greatest catches in Super Bowl history? If you care, Tyree is the only “team” in the field to garner 80 percent or more of the votes in the first two rounds. We’re going to leave the polls open until 9 a.m. tomorrow. For the Elite 8 (Wednesday and Thursday), we’re considering switching up the voting so that you can vote as many times as you’d like. Feel free to offer your opinion on this in the comments. Also, a few college football fans expressed disdain for the tournament because the sport was completely omitted (how’d we forget Tebow!). Sad move on our part. Next year, totally.

In the Office/God matchup, no matter who wins, we’re all losers.

diesel, i have 3 computers i use daily, and i’m going to vote on all of them. That’s the beauty of anomytity. And if David Tyree’s catch starts to make a comeback, i’ll go vote on all the computers in my office. Not really though.

Tyree’s catch was fantastic and it’s hard to vote against, but Erin Andrews is the gift that keeps on giving.

I am suprised to see TWY losing right now. How can TWY beat the show FNL, but not beat one of its characters?
Def against multiple votes, but I would be in favor of some superdelegates.

As an atheist who’s in love with Jenna Fischer I can’t justify a vote for God…sorry big guy

This is so right. I’m an atheist and I just voted for Jehovah. The Office is so bad I choose not to believe it exists. Anyone who votes for the Office over anything other than the death of a family member is a sicko.

The Office makes me laugh on a more regular basis..there is my vote.
March 31st, 2008 at 12:34 pm

Obama > Lebron

God gives you drama, action, comedy, pulp fiction, and documentary all-in-one. Plus, he gave us Cantona. The Office has alerted many of us to Ricky Gervais – God-like enough, in its own right – but I’m not sure the Booze Cruise and Conflict Resolution are enough to compensate for Sodom and Gomorrah and poor ol’ Job.

I’m curious to find out what people think is funny if it isn’t the office. That show is the second funniest sitcom out right now, and I haven’t found anywhere in the U.S. that shows Trailer Park Boys, which is comic genius.
March 31st, 2008 at 12:53 pm
bullshit. Obama can’t go to his left.
March 31st, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Actually, he can go to his left.

March 31st, 2008 at 1:21 pm
Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
March 31st, 2008 at 1:52 pm
My thoughts exactly. That’s like Kansas beating Davidson in the Elite 8 only to hafta face Stephen Curry in the Final 4….and Curry winning!
March 31st, 2008 at 2:13 pm
I’m sorry, but there’s just no way I’m voting *against* God.
March 31st, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Pussy. God would vote against you.
March 31st, 2008 at 2:15 pm
