atl: Unfortunately as long as Fulmer keeps recording 8 win seasons (arg!) he probably is safe, at least until he reaches his coaching milestone of most career wins in UT history. UT Football fans are either vehemently against Fulmer (this contingent has been growing steadily over the 5 years or so) or just blindly loyal to him for no reason at all. Unfortunately a lot of the blindly loyal ones seem to be the boosters. If he can survive the 5-6 season 3 years ago and the shit-storm against our biggest rivals he delivered last year, I’m not sure anything can’t stop him short of a murder conviction. It sucks.

412, if it helps, I am a Penn St. season ticket-holder. Although, there hasn’t been Pitt PSU smack in years. I still think that the 12th team to join the Big TEleveN is going to be Pitt. Actually, barring Notre Dame making a huge change, I’ve got it in this order: ND – Pitt – Marshall – WVU

@Sean John–you seem like an objective, rational UT fan. Until now, I would’ve said that’s not possible. Just an observation…and I fully realize people may say that about me as a Georgia fan–we have our fair share of idiot fans.

What’s the word on Fulmer? Is he on the hot seat at all? It seems like he’s almost invincible.
