Ballin’: See You Later, DeShawn! See you Sunday, Boston!
NBA May 3rd. 2008, 12:00pm
Atlanta 103
Boston 100:
Can they really do it? The Hawks used a balanced attack (6 guys with 11-18 points) to beat the Celtics to force a game 7 on Sunday in Beantown. The Legend of Joe Johnson continued to grow despite a poor shooting night (4-13) when JJ hit a he-uuuuge 3 with a minute and a half to go. Paul Pierce fouled out with 17 points and then received a technical as a parting gift. Kevin Garnett might have participated, but I don’t remember seeing him.
Cleveland 105, Washington 88: 27 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists is a fairly good day at the office for most of us. For LeBron its a little “meh.” Wally Szczerbiak also had himself a game, scoring 26 points mostly on 6 of 13 three point shooting. Boobie Gibson also hit 4 from long distance. Antawn Jamison had 23 and 15 for the Wizards who can now watch the rest of the playoffs on television.
Utah 113, Houston 91: Can you really blame a guy who scores 40? We’ll try. Tracy McGrady also grabbed 10 rebounds and handed out 5 assists in yet another elimination game. Louis Scola was the only other Rocket to reach double figures with 15. Congratulations do go out to the Jazz despite the fact that everyone must feel just a little bit bad that T-Mac will never see the 2nd round wearing a jersey. Every Jazz starter and 2 reserves hit double figures for Utah.
Tonight: Game 1 of the Hornets – Spurs and Detroit – Orlando – dress accordingly.

Gotta say I am suprised they won two games in this series let alone 3. I like the Celts chances tomorrow but I definately think the pistons are the team to beat in the East.

I hope ATL doesnt win….I am hoping to see a Lakers/Celtics final…

Anyone can win in a game 7, but I’ll take Boston to blow out the Hawks tomorrow. How can Pierce receive a technical foul after he already fouled out of the game?

I like the Celtics chances as well but looking at the faces of KG, Allen and Pierce last night…the world is on their shoulders…they need the home crowd to get them loose..unfortunately it’s Boston so the chances of that happening are slim and none

I’ve never rooted against Boston in my life, but damn this would be impressive if they lost.
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:32 PM
who u guys got orlando-detroit? damn that series is intriguing.. dwight is a monster inside, but the pistons have the next best 4 players on the floor after dwight..

Boston may well win Game 7, but they are damaged and exposed. My point for a couple months is that their “big 3″ have played way too many minutes and it will end up costing them in the playoffs against Cleveland or Detroit. This makes matters worse for them.
I see a Pistons – Cavs rematch in the ECF.

Ok Irish, you’re on notice-my Pistons against your Magic. We win in six.

Sparty – we are together on this one!
Wolverines and Spartans band together.

Magic over Pistons in 7
Celtics over Cavs in 7
Magic over Celtics in 6

cortes…I love Orlando in this series but but if Detroit plays hard (which is iffy night in night out..it’s the playoffs damn it) its going to be trouble…the Magic need to jump on Detroit early and often and take Sheed out of the equation…I have not liked Rip this year…and hopefully Nelson can play some sort of defense against Billups…but these guys don’t look or feel the same to me as they have the last few years

Grand Theft Auto 4 rocks. I haven’t been this hooked on a game since that airplane game 1942. ok, that’s an exaggeration, but you get the point.
I need to buy video games!
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:43 PM
yea i agree with you on that.. i took hornets in 7 and am leaning toward magic in 7, not sure if i have balls to take magic in 7 tho.. we’ll see

Hey, have you played GTA IV on multiplayer yet? It’s awesome, you run around and take each other out, with whatever you get your hands on, including cars, ambulances-everything goes.
Michelle just finally let me come in the house and hit it.

Have not tried multiple player yet
some of the best stuff is when the cops have you cornered and you’re hunkered down with an uzi or assault rifle just taking the cops out
it’s like that awesome scene in heat

On behalf of all Celtics fans everywhere, I demand an apology from Doc Rivers. He is getting COMPLETELY EXPOSED this series. First leaving Allen on Joe Johnson in Game 4, and then they didn’t even have a good play to get Allen or Cassel open on the last shot attempt. As a coach, how do you let that happen? If the team fails he is a huge reason why.

Just to make sure nobody forgets, the NBA MVP IS NOT The best basketball player in the world.
I think everyone by now (took a few years too long for most of you, but you probably don’t get FSN Ohio on your local cable packages) knows who the best basketball player in the world currently be.
May 3rd, 2008 at 3:25 PM
Look who left the suicide watch. Quick recovery. Good for you son.
May 3rd, 2008 at 3:32 PM
Since when did FSN Ohio start showing Laker games???
May 3rd, 2008 at 3:36 PM

Is it wrong that I want Boston to lose, just to see what Simmons’ day-after column would be like?
