Saturday Roundup: That’s Ricky Bobby’s Girl?
Heavy Drinking, Horse Racing, MMA, Media Gossip/Musings, Movies, Music, NBA May 3rd. 2008, 11:00am
That is Leslie Bibb of Iron Man/Talladega Nights fame… I wanted to put up a picture of Hilary Duff… Or I could have went with these beasts… But I didn’t… I apparently have too much respect for you guys.
I don’t really want to talk about it since I might be stuck seeing Made of Honor today (Shut up.) but Iron Man looks terribly sick… Bonus… Send all tips and scoops and whatnots to me at alumnigonzo@gmail.com… Make my life easier…
Somebody named Kobe (?) was named MVP. (Some Indie blog named Deadspin)
Apparently a bunch of people think Kobe should be MVP. (whereIstand)
A Derby link… written by someone from my hometown of Whitehall, New York. (SI)
The girls of The Hills. (Hollywood Tuna)
Unsilent Majority finally comes out. Read more on Deadspin all weekend. (Kissing Suzy Kolber)
Somebody stole my wedding theme! (Klingon Wedding)
I’m currently working on my entry for Orlando’s Gentleman’s Club. (Ebony Bird)
This is the kind of garbage that is leading to the dumbing down of our society. Gosh darn AM radio! (RedLasso via Gonzo)
If you’re betting on the Derby today you’ll probably encounter these fellows. (The Ghosts of Wayne Fontes)
I wasn’t going to link this, but then I saw there was a link there to this. If you take me back to Junior year of high school you’re making the Roundup. (The Sports Hernia)
Another idiot’s take on Buzz Bissinger. I should emphasize idiot. (The Big Picture)
Did I recently purchase this album on iTunes and mistakenly get the clean version? Yes. Does that make me appreciate the genius of Nelly and the St. Lunatics any less? No. Don’t worry – the theme of the weekend is Nelly. (E.I.)

Another idiot’s take on Buzz Bissinger. I should emphasize idiot.
The BoSox of 2004 were idiots, so I guess I’m in good company.

iron man sucked to be quite honest.. i won’t give away spoilers yet because it just came out, just know how ridiculously unrealistic the movie is.. at least 4 times in the movie he should have died doing stuff that any other human would be long dead doing.. leslie bibb though was exceptionally hot in the first 30-45 mins of the film..
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:22 AM
holy shit its a comic book movie
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:22 AM
you saw a comic book movie and your biggest complaint is how unrealistic it was? check yo expectations man
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:24 AM

May 3rd, 2008 at 11:27 AM
like ok, but batman and spiderman had elements of realism to it you know what i mean?? this was just too over the top unrealistic.. i understand it’s not shawshank or good will hunting, i just didnt want the guy to fly into the wall face first 90 mph and not come out with a scratch get outta here with that crap
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:27 AM
LOL @ Roman. I heard on the radio today Jose Reyes had 2 triples. Man, that guy is fast. remember, its 830 out there in the desert.
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:31 AM
Gonzo…did you see our bet? Anyway..Sandy Alomar waived Jose around for an inside the park HR attempt and a cycle attempt and was gunned down by a mile..that was a little rough…but Reyes Church and Wright has to be 1 2 3 for the time being they are 6-0 together.
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:32 AM
RWH, but you have to face webb and haren.. you guys will be lucky to win 1 of the next 2 even with johan pitching sunday.. should b interesting tho.. and whats more annoying in sports than that joseeeeee chant.. ugh.. mets fans.. u remind me of sid rosenberg lol
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:35 AM

/evil dancing with evil laughing…lebron > washington
//mike brown <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< tim floyd – this series should have been a sweep…only if our coach didn’t score worse than Vince Young and Mario Manningham on the Wonderlic
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:46 AM
Gonzo, good post over there. But, on to the more important issue: You look like Chris Elliott? You lucky, lucky sonofabitch.
/ I love sitting up here, looking at those bright, twinkly things in the sky. I forget their technical name. – Fancy Lad

post-death penalty SMU football >>>> caron butler, deshawn stevenson, brendan haywood.
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:49 AM
Congrats on the bet, Spence. That was one hell of an arse woopin’. Gotta love the hot/cold rollercoaster that is Wally World.
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:49 AM
Cortes…only 1 of 2 wins the bet…The Mets are 14 of their last 15 in AZ so I feel good..the Jose chant is annoying but is our chant damn it…and no one rocks harder than on Sidney Arthur Rosenberg…unfortunately he was to busy smoking crack in NY (not a joke) to stay and remain awesome.
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:51 AM
@MoleMan – Cabin Boy quote.
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:53 AM
lol nice sidney arthur reference, he always does that.. hes on 790 the ticket in miami for the last year or so.. rubs the miami people the wrong way because he talks a ton of NY sports, and he’s loud.. but can’t argue much with the entertainment value of his show, he does a good job..
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:57 AM
Raucous golf clap, nomo
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:07 PM

May 3rd, 2008 at 12:09 PM
Oh you sweet bastard. You’re a Rick Rollin’ but I’ve moved on.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B62p-dEfUZM
He can’t dance but neither can Lionel Richie.
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:11 PM
Gotcha, Mole. I’m a bit slow today, what with it being the crack of noon and all. I would assume that’s exactly who Gonzo looks like.
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:21 PM
Thanks Nomo. No, not from Scary movie. My face iss pretty clean, except for the beard.
Roman, yeah I saw your bet with Hef. Good luck man, that’s gonna be hilarious.
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:29 PM
Good morning, all. Roman, I’m thinking that Micah either shit the bed or his ankle was worse than we thought. Your boys love Chase Field. Abso-fucking-lutely love Chase Field. This is bad news. We got Webby today, but Christ Almighty, it’ll come down to Haren/Santana on Sunday (I hope). Matchup of the year.
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:31 PM
BTW, this is the latest I’ve slept in months. It’s the weekend, so my wife took the nine month old out early. It feels like noon. I swear I live on East Coast time.
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:33 PM
hef you going on sunday to see haren/santana?
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:33 PM
Hef…I am looking forward to Sunday…that game has 1-0 written all over it…as for Babe Ruth Jr. they kept him in entirely too long (which doesn’t bother me) his downfall was fouling two balls off his bad foot…he wasn’t even walking well after that none the less run…Melvin needed a better handle on the situation but the Mets were Raking last night so it didn’t matter who was in there
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:41 PM
I’m going sunday to see haren/santana and I’m going monday to see Mad Max’s first professional start.
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:44 PM
@nomo: I’m glad you liked Season 1. The next two seasons are wayyy better.
Are you gonna cry?
He’s gonna cry, look.
Did you see that? He was totally gonna cry.
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:47 PM
Hef, left you a comment at the end of the Augustin post.
/ That’s Tammy, Trey’s ex-girlfriend. This is classic Tammy.
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:47 PM
and don’t i feel stoopid now.
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:53 PM
I know where you left the comment. I didn’t want to go all the way over there.
May 3rd, 2008 at 1:11 PM
@CRM- Not sure if I go with your Derby picks, or this fellow Tim Layden. What is this Whitehall town you speak of, I thought you were from the Albany. And is there an OTB in Whitehall?
May 3rd, 2008 at 2:03 PM
Nice Rick Roll CRM. You bitch.
/dick joke.
May 3rd, 2008 at 3:17 PM
Darren: Well, after ordering, Mr. Seinfeld and Mr. Costanza debated on whether or not iron man wore some sort under garment between his skin and his iron suit…
Kramer: Uh huh…
George: (Interrupts) And I still say he’s naked under there!
Jerry: Oh that makes a lot of sense.
George: Oh, shut up!
May 3rd, 2008 at 3:41 PM
+1 Sandos. Now gimme back my jacket.
May 3rd, 2008 at 4:38 PM
I grew up in Whitehall. It’s small. I’m now in the Capital Region of New York.
May 3rd, 2008 at 5:11 PM
Looks like Whitehall produces some high quality sports writers. Wonder who else is out there that we’ve never heard, and I wonder what that put in the water up there?
