Reds 9, Cubs 0: Nearly 12 hours after Carlos Zambrano was dominant, John Leiber and the Cubs were dominated (see how I did that?). The Reds belted seven homers, including three from Joey Votto – and four in the 2nd inning. Edinson Volquez struck out 10 and dropped his ERA to 1.06. Yikes.

A’s 6, O’s 5 (10): Kurt Suzuki had two hits and two RBI for the pleasantly surprising Athletics and Mark Ellis hit a game-winning bomb off Lance Cormier. E I and U were scratched from the game (manager’s decision).

Mets 12, Dodgers 1: That’s one way to stop another lengthy L.A. win streak: have four players contribute two RBI. Ryan Church had half that many, and added three hits. On the season, he’s at .328 with 23 RBI and 24 runs.

Marlins 6, Brewers 2: Jorge Cantu and Dan Uggla hit back-to-back bombs and the Brewers combined for 11 strike outs. With the offseason addition of Ted Simmons to the Milwaukee bench, rumors of Ned Yost’s demise are getting stronger.

Astros 4, Nationals 3: Ryan Zimmerman had two homers and three RBI, but Houston got the last laugh. Roy Oswalt had two RBI and struck out nine in seven innings. Astros are undefeated in the month of May.
